A problem with '2194 days of war'

I am currently playing that scenario as the British.
Very enjoyable, but:
When the British discover 'Radar', the game crashes.

(I suspect that Radar is the last tech that the British are 'allowed' to discover in this scenario, but the authors seem to have forgotten to allow the British to research future techs, and the game crashes because the AI doesn't find out what to research next)

Does anyone know whether I can do something to go on playing despite that bug ?

Perhaps make future tech a 'nil Preq' tech, meaning every one can grab it...?

Perhaps rename it to 'Combat Research' or something?
