Hello!
So, I was watching this YouTube video this morning and I noticed that it had some really annoying distortion. Also, every time Windows plays a warning sound or any of those, the same distortion occurs.
I checked for viruses/spyware/etc., no help. I removed my sound card's old drivers (Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS), installed new ones... still no help. I installed latest Adobe Flash, no help... albeit YouTube seems to have stopped working at all. Heh.
So I tried to see where the problem actually occurs. So I opened a video file in MPlayer and it had the distortion problem. But then I went to the options and changed the Sound driver from Win32 to DirectSound, and the distortion's gone! Wow.
I haven't really done anything remarkable lately, except for updating FSecure Internet Security 2006 to 2007. It detected a virus few days back and I deleted it... and it deleted it for a while. And now this appears. Coincidence? Well, there have been some odd slowdowns lately... no spyware/viruses detected, though. This problem also started to occur after I was working with a 4500x2550 picture and it had some slowdowns, and after that I decided to check some YouTube videos and they had the distortion.
So, anyone got some advice?
