This is the scenario: I am in the year 2228, I am Greece, and I am a communism. I have 5 sources of uranium and I have got the technologies rockets, space flight, fission, and the one that gives you the nuclear power plant(I can't remember the name.) I still can't build nukes though. Is there any way to get nukes without the Manhatten Project? i.e. before other civs get them? Answers would be appreciated.

The Manhattan Project allows the construction of nuclear weapons. You don't have to build it, but somebody does.

Yup, the Manhattan Project is the only possible way assuming your civ meet all other requirement.

Thanks guys. Now I shall turn my game into a nuclear wasteland!:crazyeye: :nuke: Just kidding.

I didn't change nuclear weapons or the manhattan project like zoave did, so I think I might have a problem. The AI is so dumb and hotheaded that it is very likely to fire nuclear weapons at me. And I have to do the research to complete the modern era.

To protect myself I can

  • * build sdi, doesn't work well enough to stop all their missles
    * sabotage their production, this isn't a good bet either
    * fire nukes first, I don't like this idea
    * declare war on any civ that starts building nukes and wipe them out conventianally? It takes lots of money and spying to even be aware what all the cities in the world are doing, and I might as well go for a conquest victory in the first place if I do this....

Is there any reasonable way to play this besides editing the .bic file before you start (too late for me now)?

I'm probably going to get the Manhattan Project first. I will rush it with a leader if I need to.

I'm not kidding. My world will be far better off without the Iroquois, Babylonians, and Persians.

No matter what I do I can't get a peace agreement to last more than one turn. I'm using democracy. I've got a bunch of hot heads. First Babylon, then Persia, then Iroquois. Wash, rinse, repeat. And repeat. And repeat. Then toss in the Romans and Germans for fun. At the rate things are going Zululand will be the last one standing.

My citizens are war weary. Hell, I'm war weary almost to the point I want to start a new game. The AI is so hair trigger. I don't like the options it gives: leave or declare war on the first screen. It is unrealistic. You want to defuse the situation, not exacerbate it. Now I'm at war again for a stupid three square piece of desert. They can have the damn thing. There is nothing on it.

I'm also thinking of going back to my last save and just giving the Iroquois the damn island. They've got a stack of 10 infantry within city limits which they didn't withdraw after the last war with them.

So I'm thinking that when I get nukes, I'm going to nail them good, targeting large civilian areas and blow them off the face of the earth. This game is driving me crazy. End this nightmare. Now.

Can you spell "trainer time"?
