I am a long time war/strategy gamer, and a common thread through most of these games is morale. Would it be possible to mod all units to have a morale gauge, like the health indicators.
I think it would be a great addition, and add a lot of strategic depth to CivIV.
Perhaps it would be sort of like a fort. At the highest morale level the unit would get a + to combat, then one down to neutral normal combat rating, then one down to a small negative combat rating, and at the bottom is a major combat penalty and chance of fleeing to nearest friendly city, or turn barb....something along those lines.
You could then also have corresponding buildings to boost morale, or special army hooker caravans to accompany the army to boost morale on the go. Perhaps some units could have a fixed high morale like UU's, maybe small wonders built in a city...
I am not a modder currently. Though I have been inspired to start learning XML. Is this sort of thing even possible? Does anybody think it's worth doing?
