A suggestion for everyone with technical problems

My CTDs went away when I upgraded from 1 GB of RAM to 3 GB. I suspect the game is inefficiently coded such that a marginal amount of RAM (1GB or less) exposes some weakness.

Yes, but surely we shouldn't need 3GB of RAM just to run this game. The min specs are 256MB I think. And I have heard others sayin the game runs fine and they have a lower spec than mine.

I work in technical support. The software we sell is internationally known (anti-virus). When a customer reports a problem, as a support technician, it is our job to ASSUME that it's the software at fault... but of course you have to ask the right questions.

I've got all the up to date drivers for everything on my system and still get choppy pictures and CTD (and once a full reboot of the system).

Lets try this. If your game works say that it does then post these specs at least. Same if it doesn't work, just be sure u specify if it does or does not work. Maybe we can find a common factor between those that don't work.

Of course updates aren't fixing problems yet. The game's only been out for a few weeks.

Well, it should be obvious that much of the frustration stems from the fact that the game should never have been released with so many problems that require fixing. I don't think anyone purchased the game thinking they'd just wait for the makers to eventually get around to a version that works. Similarly, it's sold as a game -- not an unrunnable attempt at a game.

Obviously producing a quality product is not a priority for the makers -- meeting a deadline and comfortable profit margin is.

Has anyone experiencing problems run Memtest86 to make sure their RAM was not the problem?
