A suggestion to make Immortality less confusing

I doubt that a few immortal mimics really make a difference. And you'll have to defeat a significantly stronger unit to get it.

We can always lock the Immortal promo off Mimics. It's really a trivial bit of code.

Being immortal really isn't that big of an advantage, unless the unit is defending your capital (in which case, you've probably already lost)

Since immortal units are teleported to your capital when they die, they're usually very far away from the frontline, especially given the general size of empires when divine essence comes around. Immortality preserves the unit's promotions, and saves you building a new one. But it still has to trek halfway across the continent to get back to the battle, which will generally be over by the time it arrives.

One way or another, killing an immortal unit takes it out of the battle. And stops it troubling you for at least a while.

By time I have an immortal die I can portal it back to a city VERY near the front... as soon as it is healed that is.

I usually go the arcane path very late. So I will have immortals long before I can pass through the void. But please, if you tie immortality to a promotion, let mimics steal it. At least at first. If it really unbalances the game, then block it.

Wait----

Brigit is immortal??

:wallbash:

In my last game as amurites i got The Nexus before Blood of The Phoenix. So when everybody declared war on me when i began building the Tower of Mastery every time they taken a city, everybody that was defending it was right up in the next.

see why we need an immortal and a blood of the pheonix promotion? We could even give Losha a different name for it... I think somebody should actually send this to Kael as it snot a feature shift and it makes the game more clear.

I agree there needs to be some way of identifying. The only game I got Brigit in-- I was being extra cautious to keep her alive. What a waste of effort.I could have used her to soften up the horsemen when they appeared and killed them with the next unit instead of wasting all my time building up an attack stack.
