Not one single Jew (ok, there might have been a few) accepted Caesar as their earthly King. That whole idea is ridiculous, from a historical point of view.
Judea was a region occupied by Romans, against the will of its inhabitants. There was fierce resistance. And the Romans reacted to it in ways more cruel than you and I can imagine. Crucifying rebel leaders was quite a common.
