Okay, so I went and saw a chick flick, right? Well I just thought it was gonna be one of those regular 'ol chick flicks, with a sappy love story and nothing more. The real reason I decided to go see this is that Mandy Moore stars... and boy, that grrl is hot!

Lo and behold, I am sucked into the plot. The movie may pertain a little bit more to me due to the fact that I am a senior in high school, and the movie is about seniors in high school. Anyhoo, this movie has such a refreshing story. It has morals! It has few curse words, and no nudity!! (I'm sorry if that type of thing *is* your cup 'o tea, but I try to live according to the teachings of Jesus Christ, and the entertainment offered in today's world usually does not line up with that.)

If you don't mind a bit of depression, and aren't concerned that your date will think you utterly disgusting after seeing a "perfect" hollywood romance, then I recommend this film heartily! If you are the type to cry at movies, however, you'll probly wanna be bringing some tissues.

so what was the movie about then? and i didn't catch the title of it either... is it a good one to take a girlfriend to too? come on! tell us the important stuff!

NO NUDITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, What was it about?

Sorry for the lack of what its about, then. All is forgiven, I hope? In any case, the basic plot is thus: (I have taken it, in its entirety, from www.awalktoremember.com, due to its ability to best convey the movie's plot.

"Jamie was the last person Landon was likely to fall for. Serious and conservative, she was as far from cool as she could possibly be, and didn’t care. The daughter of the town’s Baptist minister, Jamie was not afraid of letting people know that her faith was the most important part of her life, even if it cost her some friends. Landon hung with the in-crowd -- an aimless, moody, reckless guy who breezed through school on looks and bravado. He had no plans, no future and no faith in himself.

One night a prank that he and his buddies set up goes terribly wrong and lands a kid in the hospital. As punishment, Landon must tutor a young student at a poor school and participate in the Drama Club’s Spring play two activities the principal hopes will teach him some humility. They also happen to throw him into close contact with Jamie. Clearly in over his head, Landon is forced to ask her for help.

Soon, against his own expectations, Landon finds himself falling in love with this outwardly plain girl who possesses a passion for life he never imagined possible. But it isn’t easy. For reasons of her own, Jamie does everything she can to run away from romance until it becomes impossible to deny.

Being together will test everything that they believe in. Most of all, it will test the power of love and faith to transform a life into something worth living."

This may sound like the typical teen movie, but it includes a message much more deep. Part of this is the purity of their relationship, and the other part is in the plot. I won't reveal that, however, as it would spoil the whole movie for y'all.

As to taking a grrlfriend, please heed my warnings: only take a date if you feel confident that you will compare favorably to the hollywood dream guy that is the male star. (That or take a level-headed date..) Anyways, this is a heart touching love story. And one last thing: The movie is the thread's title, "A Walk to Remember".
