a way to get 1000000 gold w/o cheating

first, you start a war w/ someone. take a couple cities, then offer a peice treaty w/ 10000000 gold per trun on their side of the table. DO NOT say 9999999 gold per turn 'cause that will cause a bug and empty your treasury after 20 turns. do not start another war with that culture until after 20 turns. u could also threaten a weak culture(usually i do the Irouquis) and ask for the dough. if u do it this way multiple times, it probably won't work after the 5th or 6th time.

yeh they do i think its a bug it is quite handy if u r a beginner or down on your luck u r meant to put as may 0's as possible in with a one in front of it and u can do it whenever u want it is a great way for stopping people in tech advancements.

Erm... This is still cheating, if it works. Hardly going to try it though. Cheating defeats the whole purpose of the game.

You're probably still playing the original version of the game. I believe this was fixed along the way in one of the patches.

yeah - it was fixed in one of the early patchs - don't think it works anymore

i have v1.07f. you need to ALMOST defeat them. just leave 1 or 2 cities.

Thats the fresh out of the box version, no?

You should download patch 1.21, it fixes tons of bugs and touches on several balance issues, such as tech brokering. Not that i agree with all of the changes, but its better than nothing at all.
