A word of reason on the release date

I've seen a flurry of threads back and forth about the ever-shifting ship date of Civ4 and I just want to say this: Amazon and EBGames do not control the ship date of this game. Take Two and Firaxis will dictate to this companies when they can release copies of it and they can do nothing about it.

The release date on all sites is back to 10/24/05. If it means one more bug is fixed or one more option added, I'll wait the extra couple of days. I've got it on overnight shipping.

Yes, and I admit that I did fan some of those threads While it certainly has the potential to crap up the forum, and for that I am sorry if it did(although I don't think I really did *that* much crapping*, it really is benevolent in nature. It's not so much of a crybaby "I want it now" as it is a more understandable(but not by much)

As far as Ebgames, Amazon etc, I know they don't control the date. I just kind of tried to use them to divine the date, knowing that they might know just a bit more than the rest of us. Still, it's wrong to start threads without at least a decent cause, and I probably started one we could have lived without.
