A tale of a wandering fisherman
"Chieftain Rikek, tell us a story" all the Agoran children sat in a half circle before the chieftain's hut. The chieftain, a man who outlived most at the time as he reached the age of 70, a marvel for his tribe and as they believe, any other. He approached the group of children who were eager to hear more of his wisdom.
"Well, children, have I ever told you about how we became the friends of the sea?"
"No, chieftain" The kids replied.
The chieftain slowly sat down on the ground, and began to remember. He finally turned to the kids and began the story:
There was once a man, in ancient times. He wandered the plains of the north day and night with no refuge, no place has suited his needs so he can settle with his family. When he traveled along the coast of the endless sea, the man decided to look for food, as he was hungry. He began to fish for hours, and hours, with no success. His wife came to him and said to him to leave the coast and travel again, as it gives no fruits. But he was stubborn and continued fishing. The tale goes that he fished for a whole day, until he found a fish! But when he found the fish, it was no ordinary one. The fish glowed with shimmering light, and the man was afraid of the fish. he threw the pole to the sea, and the fish came back to him swimming. He looked at the glowing fish and bowed down with awe and amazement. The fish talked to him, to his mind. It has said that his stubbornness and dedication to his fishing has proved himself worthy to fish from the endless sea. The fish told him it's name, Ago-ra, the Great Fish god, the one that would bestow her power on the person worthy enough to wield the ultimate powers of the sea, and to his offsprings.
"Chieftain Rikek, could his offsprings be ourselves?" The children asked with excitement. The chieftain nod at them.
"We are the Agora. We are the followers of the sea, and it's gifts bless us today. We must keep on to our gift, as it is what fuels our tribe to continue on."
