Alright lads, just wondering how many of you play your games using accelerated production? To me, it seems a bit weird and I've never used it. But to be honest, it would save me so much time!!!

What exactly does it do? I have never tried it.

I would say it makes the game no fun. You are popping out settlers and workers so fast. It distorts the game too much for me.

It halves the shield cost of units/improvements. I used to play with it on but turned it off when I realized it was hurting me. The AI was completing stuff like settlers and buildings waaaaaaay too fast and even on regent was generally able to out-expand and out-research me all the way through the modern era. The only thing it helps is not having to maintain as large of a standing army because if you need you can hammer out new units very quickly in a pinch. Overall, though, I'd say that accel production hampered my overall gameplay.

I play it pretty regularly.

Tried a couple of non-AP games, and that seemed weird.

It never made sense to me that it takes 200 years to build a friggen courthouse.

Well, if you're going to think like that, you might as well ask why it takes 20 years for a warrior to cross a river.

Turned it on the first chance I got and never looked back. Okay, looked back once, and quickly turned it back on.

I don't see the need to wait around....my games are long enough already.

I've considered that also.

There was a thread about the unrealistic aspects of the game - these are two of them. Not that I'm complaining - it's a game and there's going to be inconsistencies.

That thread would be hilarious. There's so many obvious things that are unrealistic about the game.

You'd have to be a bloody good shot to blow up a tank, and how would you even do it with a spear?! hahahah
Jam it right in the barrel of the cannon. That oughtta work.

actually, I'd say for the most part, the spear would just be blasted out the other end.

You'd need something alot more sturdy than a spear to do that
This isn't just any spear. It's the spear out of One More Turn Theatre.
