Achievement: Tomb Raider

I know several of these achievements are broken/misleading/hidden

But is this one of them? I've tried to pilliage an egyptian city every way possible and take the cities in every way possible, but can't seem to get this one to trigger.

Anyone have any luck with it? Or should it be added to the list?

I have the same problem.. I'm playing a game against 6 opponents all of them are Egypt, I conquer three or four cities with no tombs... I also notice that steam has no recorded achievements for this, so I'm assuming its broken.. Can anyone confirm?

No one in any of the achievement threads in the parallel strat forum has had any success with this. Global achievement = 0%. Although absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, we've pretty much added it to the long list of bugged ones.

If we are to go by the discription, it is broken. Many have reported not being able to complete it as have I. Here is my list of problem achievements.

All for All Super Brawl Have every Civ declare war on you at the same time. $$ **

"Diplomat" **
"Knowledge Is Good" ##
"The Elephant Battle" ##
"Tomb Raider" ##
"War Canoe Attack" ##
"The Paul Murphy Award for Excellence and Attractiveness" pedia in log stays 0 ##
"Panzer "Shafernator" General Spawn over 100 Great Generals, build an army of over 100 standing units, and beat the game 100 times. ##

Six degrees of Sid is a multiplayer achievement in that if you played with someone who has this achievement, that mean someone down the line played sid meier in this game.

Word picture: The achievement would spread from Sid Meier's to the ex-wife, and then to anyone who plays anyone with the achievement.

The modern major general, where do you see the log?

Can you tell us abit about that game?

Which civ did you play as, and which civs where in the game?

Also, difficulty, mapsize and what kind of map if you remember?

The modern major general, where do you see the log?

First activate the logging in the config file (in main civ5 directory)

LoggingEnabled = 1"

Then it will apear in your logs folder after you've restarted the game.

Possible but highly unlikely, I'm playing against 6 Egypts in my game, all of us our now in the industrial era, many of them have intense cultural output.

Could you post a link to your Steam achievement please. I tried a lot different ways to get it and none worked. So have several others. I do not understand why no one from 2K will say anything about these problem achievements.

How hard could it be to post that yes this one is broken and this is not broken. They would not even need to tell us how they should be achieved. We know some are broken such as the pedia and the General. I have 100/100/100 and the build all units the Lancer will not record. The pedia is 0 no matter what I do and so it goes.

Tomb Raider is probably something lame such as cultural buildings being razed when the city is captured but the acheivement requires you to capture the tomb. Might be worth disabling in xml, I think I've seen that in there somewhere.

So it looks like, from this thread, that the PLAYER doesn't have to do the reqs., the AI's can do it for you?

For at least that one and Sulieman's Barbarian ship conversion. I haven't seen any others reported.

Wel, I bagged the Kamikaze achievement without ever playing as Japan.
Though I made attacks with units very low on hitpoints in the game I achieved it.

Yeah, I got the Ottoman 'convert 10 ships' achievement without playing as the Ottomans ever. Although I was in a game with the Ottomans, on an Archipelago map, so there's a chance that the AI was converting ships and it counted for me.

I tried this as Egypt, duel-immortal-continents, with the idea of letting a barb capture a city with a tomb. Stupid CS kept destroying the camp. Settled close to CS bought another tomb and DoWed the CS. It wouldn't attack me! If tombs get razed on capture then it is glitched and not possible.
