Acid_04: The final frontier

Did you get this information about Shaka's cities through the world builder? Please remove it if you did. Or is it actually possible to glean the details from zooming in those cities? If it is, sorry for the accusations.

From the map, of course. All buildings are distinctive even in the fog of war.

I vote for nukes to destroy Shaka's biggest stacks at least, I think they're our best chance of actually making enough progress in time because it would not surprise me if Shaka turns up with a 100 unit stack or something equally ludicrous.

I'm not sure Stalin is a research monster, he always has tons of units and as a result lags behind research wise. You can't say that the game wouldve been over if there were builders in this game, since the whole gameflow wouldve been different to begin with.
Anyway,
I guess we could get some fighters, not sure if it helps us since Shaka has easy counter ..
a nuke or two to completely destroys Shakas SoD could be nice, just have to be quick before they get banned in UN.

sylvanllewelyn, you can see this building on the map, if you know how they look like.
Yes, easy counter avalible, but AI seems to send a pure 2 movements stacks sometime, and lonly units actially especiallye xpencive to clean up, as no collateral damage avalible, except figters/bombers.

WEll, I am not optimistic.

was building stuff, rebuilding wells (watch for it),
Building military.
Our power grows, but too slow.
was 2 voites and news no good.

I set research to fision, as team want nukes, no nukes for as.

This result of 2 voites.

No trades to, well, divine rigth if we want.

Power
Acid_last_Power0000.JPG

Alex has jet figters, Toky has mex infantry.

Our army mainly in capital and 2 sides.
If next one want to declare, move everything to one side first.

I think with no nukes it is only chance to try to grint some of Shaka army, but probably would not work.

Why not to try? As I see, we now have nothing to lose.

I guess we are probably going to lose to a spaceship now, but let's go down fighting. Pretty silly that the UN can ban nuclear weapons before they've even been invented. Oh well. As I said earlier on, sacrificing economy for military carries just as much risk as the other way round at deity, we did not get enough compensation for our war with Shaka earlier and now we are paying the price.

Alright, theRat your next, play as many turns as you feel like since you played only few before mut, i don't care.
I suggest all out attack on Shaka, at least lets make it fun these last few turns.

getting a new computer today and need to install things first, maybe the next player can start this mayhem...

ok, about to finish setting up my new computer...with 2GB and all that nonsense, let's see what CIV will be like, got it and will fight later

Hey guys, too bad about this game, but if you do another one I'm sure it'll be just as popular and instructive :D

save

Pre-Turn
wow, my new system rocks...it's so fast, I can't believe it
shift all our units east
It will however take 4-5 turns

IT China asks us to move our dingy, sell them alpha instead
one dingy fights off barbs and promotes

1.1862AD
move units east, next turn we should be ready
use both GE to speed up tanks

2.1864AD
have enough and declare war
will wait first for Shaka to make a move

3.1866AD
Shaka moves in, takes that small town
we can't build tanks as we have no oil...

biggest stack next to Elephantine, but still harmless
acida.jpg

attack with artillery and go 13:3 slaughtering them...
use our fighters to damage the MA..not bad actually
after that 2 gunships can easily take out 2 MA take out 2 more with gunships..this is great so far [17-3]

IT what is Shaka doing, he loses 1 gunship and that's it???

4.1868AD
oil connected, start tanks
use our fighters to damage the enemy
our combined arms work well again though we los 2 units at high odds

gunship -> tanks
Sam -> gunships

IT we get heavily attacked at Elephantine and lose around 5 units, we need Sams there

5.1870AD
a stack of 40 units is next to Elephantine
acidb.jpg

our artillery has to save us
attack relentlessly, lose some units, but they lose massive, the whole stack is gone

IT only 1 units gets attacked

6.1872AD
good thing US is not adopted, guess we all need slavery
take on some smaller stack but not that successful
we get a new GG, attach to a tank maybe

YEAH, lose a tank against artillery at 98.8%, I love the CIV RNG :gripe:

take out a smaller stack next to Elephantine and the area is clear for now
the slaughter has some effect

Comments:
My computer is finally able to play CIV with great speed, however fighting modern war here wore me out fast...next player, good luck with that

That looks like a big fall of Shakas power; i didn't look at the save...

great to have you back with a system that can run civ4 properly Rat.

Seeing modern armour worries me, they can't be far off the space launch now. It's a shame we didn't have time to get to robotics ourselves, I enjoy modern warfare, but only with tech parity or better :) Who's up next?

as I see it our option is to kill Shaka units home why attempt to research better units.

It is Toky who will win by space.
When Alex finally declared on some one? I think he is preparing for 60 turns now, or even more.

fighting modern armor was ok as long as I had enough figthers to damage them. However, I lost quite a few due to their jets shooting us down

I was able to handle what Shaka put up so far, he lost massively so far, I guess around 70 units or more. He is 4 elements away from SS completion and as pointed out, the others will simply win.

I think with a few more tanks, we should go on the offense. Why not, we have nothing to lose anyway. By the way, in order to not be too unhappy, research has halted to almost a standstill...no choice.

As for my computer, I now have Core 2 + 2GB and a graphics card with 512Mb, made a world of a difference :D I also asked for additional coolers so that my system won't die the heat death always
Civilization wasn't meant to be played with high end computers, the key audience is difference...guess they forgot that...

OK just got back from a trip so it might take me 2 days to get to this.

Actially I believe it is memory that give the most effect.
1 MB just do not do it. It run fine if your system has 2 MB and memory it dead cheap now.

BTW did we revolt to Police state? I think we are figting in Shaka culture, so we probably need police state.
