Add Revolution concept from Civ4 to Civ3

I fany of you have palyed Civ4s legends of Revolution, then you know that the game is much more interesting when you can experience empire wide civil wars or defect to lead the rebbellion.
But now I want to add the Revolution concept/ability to Civ3 Conquests or something. Maybe even a whole new expansion pack type layout.
Any suggestions, I have no idea how to work the source codes to due ti myslef, so I need your contributions people, please give me a hand.

There is no source code to work with for Civ 3 as there is in 4 & 5. You either can try your hand at modifying an exe (which obviously isn't recommended) or you can push the limitations of the editor. So civil wars are not possible per se since game engine cannot be directly modified, but defections are already a part of the game but in a bit different way than you are probably thinking.
