Adding a "City Information Screen"

If you look at the map, you can see every building in every city, and so a skilled player, who knows every pic of every building, can list them all.
Besides, there's a screen who allows the player to know which wonders have been built, and where (if known).

However, both these features are not friendly.
I've been playing CIV4 for a long time, and can't recognize too many buildings, by looking at the city on the map. Less expert players have even bigger troubles, I think.
Also, the wonder screen (or better, the wonder panel) is located in a screen that is difficult to open (if I remember, you press F9 and then select "Top 5 cities"), it is small and difficult to read.

I would like to have a "city information screen", which lists EVERY city you have discovered, and all its buildings and wonders. So, a player doesn't have to strain his eyes to distinguish a "temple" pic from a marketplace (just giving an example).
In addition, the same screen (or a different one, if needed) should list all the built great wonders, and their location.

Perhaps, it might be possible by enhancing the current "Top 5 cities" screen, or by dividing it into 2 screens to better show these informations.
However, there should be given better hints to open this screen: at the moment, if I need to open the wonders panel, I have to press "Top 5 cities", that's not the best hint the game can give me!!!

I think this is something that you have better chances to get competent answers in the "Creation and Customization" Forum.

You could try to take look at the BUG Mod - i dont know if it does have exactly what you need, but the mod is focused at improveing the interface without altering gameplay.

I just zoom into the city from the outside and see what buildings are present. The real problem that firaxis needs to fix, is a (examine city) option to pop up just after capturing one. This lets you see exactly what buildings you will CAPTURE, and other details when you are deciding to razz or keep it.

Right now, the system is horrible, at least for new players who don't know enough to guess what will goodies will or will not be present.

If you hover your mouse over the city bar for one of your own cities, all the buildings and detailed information will appear on the main screen. However, I don't think this feature works for AI cities does it?

Regarding the Wonder top 5 cities screen, the information box on the right side already lists ALL the wonders that exist in the world, and those that you are building. If you don't have enough information about another AI, it will still list their wonders but it won't identify the nation for you yet. But anyway this is one of the main information pages (it's not "small" as you say) and it contains all wonder information already.

I'm not entirely sure it's a good thing that one should be able to know all the buildings that exist in every city. But regardless, the game was designed in a way that allows you to figure it out if you zoom in close enough on the main map.
