Is there any way to have more than 32 civs in a game without screwing with the hard-code? If so, I desperately need it.

Always wondered on this one. I think not, though, as Austria is also included as a Easter Egg. You just gotta find their files and replace one of the other civ's with them. (something I have not done, but have read about it)

Go to the Creation and Customization Forum for information on how to change one civ to another.

I know how to change civs. What I want is to ADD them. Effectively, keep all existing civs, but add extras too. (If it were possible, I could double the number)

The number of civilizations is hard-coded in the game, and cannot be increased. No one, as yet, has figured out a way to get around that problem.

Damn.

I'm reopening discussion here. I read somewhere that the number of civs was hard-coded into the palettes. If I can figure out which part, it's just a matter of upping the limit.

It's hard coded into the code. Believe me, if the guys over in C&C could have gotten it raised, they would have.
