Quite new to FFH2, loving it so far,
but struggling to find the best maps to play on to learn the game.
The AI doesn't, so far, seem to know how to use navies for invasions,
so continents is not viable? Or is that only because I'm playing Prince level?
Erebus is fun, but often results in distorted, cramped maps which I'm sure I'll enjoy once I'm a veteran, but I'm still just getting the hang of the basics.
And then there's the seagoing/continental divide problem again.
Fractal, I've had the best results, though often one or two civs are stuck on islands and never really get involved.
Pangaea should be ideal, but for some reason the standard map is way smaller than for fractal (approx 65x45? compared to 80x60?)
and it's so crowded, the barbs don't stand a chance.
So, just crank it up to large, but keep the same number of civs?
Or does that get too barb-heavy?
Any advice or insight gratefully received.
Any maps I've overlooked? Highlands?
