This is a play through of a mod I'm working on, called Civilization III Aeon. I'm playing as Italy, which could debateably be the most powerful civ in the game, as they are decently strong throughout history. I'm not a writer, and I'm not trying to be...this is an experiment if anything.

Game settings:
Map: 10k tiles, standard
Civs: 8
Difficulty: Advanced (a Emperor/Demigod equivalent)
World: Pangea (in retrospect I would have liked it to be Continents for more navy action, but I hadn't played on Pangaea in a long time so...)

Spoiler :

BC106 China's units retreat from fighting South Africa to come after me. I'm considering abandoning Shanghai, but I think the defense might hold.

BC62 Rather than counterattack me, the stacks head east to the more lightly defended cities. This is gonna let me pick them apart. :shake:

I have a million questions. I'll try to keep it down to 3 or 5.

1. What's that resource just northeast of Canton?

2. What the modpack being used here? Is this you own work or are you putting it together from other sources?

3. What are the attack/defend/move stats on those "boats" you have? How do they stand up compared to 2-movement based coastal carracks? Do they attack or only defend? Can they transport troops? Or are those just your version of galleys?

1. I seems like a Tropical Fruits resource. :p

2. This is his own mod. I'll let him tell more about this as I dont know everything. :)

That's fine, ask away. :D

1. What's that resource just northeast of Canton?
Wine. It's a sideways barrel with 2 grape clusters beneath.

2. What the modpack being used here?
It's my own mod, titled "Aeon" that is pretty much done, I've just been fine-tuning things and getting numbers right.

Is this you own work or are you putting it together from other sources?
Well it's my own work, but I've used dozens of images, sounds, units, etc. which were created by others.

3. What are the attack/defend/move stats on those "boats" you have? How do they stand up compared to 2-movement based coastal carracks? Do they attack or only defend? Can they transport troops? Or are those just your version of galleys?
Boats are sea units available extremely early on...you can have a boat built 6 turns into the game. They come before galleys. The stats are:

1 Attack
1 Defend
3 Movement (ships in general have decent movement)

Sinks in Sea tiles
Cannot enter Ocean tiles.

Transports 2 Foot units (In the first era, that means anything but mounted/horse units.

I'm pretty much on cruise control at this point, but I'll play it out anyway. In the past I have lost multiple times at this difficulty level, but this has been easier for lots of reasons.

China and Canada started out strong, but China really had a bad start location (too many mountains, although in this mod terrain is more even I think), and Canada's early war with Spain left them pretty ordinary.

I had very nice land and have been able to mostly avoid wars I don't want to be in - in past games sometimes it's me who all those red lines point at. :ack:
