After patch....

After I installed 1.52 patch, when I click on the desktop icon to start the game, I get an error window saying: "This application has failed to start because BOOST_PYTHON-VC-71-MT-1_32dll" was not found.
I can get the game started by using an old icon in the quick Launch bar, but I'd like to correct this startup problem.
After the game starts the special cursor that came with the game flashes rapidly, and it has since I installed the game back in Nov. I was hoping the patch would address that issue.
Any help would be appreciated.

From easiest to hardest
  • Clear the game's cache by holding the shift key as it's loading (or empty the \cache folder manually)
  • Uninstall the game completely then reinstall and apply the patch on the fresh installation
This is related to an installation error. There was reference to it in another thread regarding PitBoss here.

Let us know if this resolves your issues.

Which installation? the patch, or the original? I didn't have the problem before the patch installation. It took 4hrs and 10min for the original installation; am I looking at the same thing again?
Thanx

This corrected the startup problem. It did not correct the rapid flashing of the CIV IV cursor.
What is PitBoss?
Thank you.

PitBoss is a persistent world feature described here.

Your cursor may be a DirectX / video card driver issue. If those haven't been updated in the last 6 months you may wish to try it.

Cesare, Grab the newest video drivers from http://www.nvidia.com and install them. That should cure that problem. If the problem presists....There are some issues with various games and up to date drivers. It sounds stupid, but games like EQ and EQ2 can't use the newest drivers, as they cause the type of problem you are describing.

Personally, I'm running a 6800 with the latest drivers and having no problems.

Hope it helps.
