Aggie's got a river though - that should help him.

Turn 29: Jack meets me. One turn later we make a deal. I give him Iron Working for 50 gold and 2 gpt.

Turn 42:

Hmmmm. Shall I pay Jack a visit? No, I let Tokyo exist.

I hope you had a good reason not to raze Tokyo, otherwise it was a golden opportunity.

We decided to ask for a new map. We were surrounded by AI and had no chance to get more than 4 cities . Exactly what we didn't ask for.

EDIT: We wanted to start a new PBEM, but it was chieftain level

Everything was fixed (same starting positions). We played about 18 turns.

I had a great starting postion, but I fear that my next turns will be very very rough It is too early to say my games with Jack are doomed, but I will have a difficult task. I'm in a similar situation as anarres was vs Jack.

I was wrong, I didn't get sneak-attacked by the AI.

Here's an overview of the powers that be. Note that the 2nd settler for the humans makes a lot of difference on deity
