does anyone else seem to get wav file problems on xp?
i just got a new one
Knightdeath.wav seems to be missing......
anyone know got to fix it i have reinstalled check for maintance and it still missing!!!!!

Check to make sure chkdsk isn't replacing corrupt files with the shorter 8.3 filename version. If it is, just rename the file correctly and check for possible hard disk problems.

i found the only true solution to these darn wav files and that is to copletely uninstall all civ3 files both normal and conquest and the reinstall civ3 download the lates patch then reinstall civ3 conquest and the latest patch u most do it in that order or else u'll still get those stupid wav file :\ thats the only way to get rid of those wav errors at least i think :)

Search for "Knightdeath.wav" then rename it to "Knight death.wav" (a space in the middle) and that should fix the problem.

Welcome to CFC!

I checked and it's supposed to be KnightDeath.wav. Just find a different file (go to C:\Program Files\Infogrames Interactive\Civilization III\Art\Units\Knight), perhaps KnightFortify.wav, copy it, paste it in the same place, then rename it to KnightDeath.wav. Your knights will sound a little weird when they die, but it's better than reinstalling.
