AI Cheat Collusion...

You know that place by the other place...
Has anyone noticed that there are more and more people quitting in MP and then rejoining via a "friend" ?

I've seen this more and more and I think it is because they are colluding together to get the AI cheats. This usually only happens in games where they increase the Difficulty level... often with some lame reason. One will leave the game and the other will saying something like, "oh, he DC's all the time, I'll invite him back in". Then once he gets back in, he gets all the AI cheats for the higher difficulty level... you will usually see him increase in Science very quickly thereafter. If he falls behind later, he will just do it again.

Just wondering if others have seen this too.

Cheers

I noticed that in a game I played earlier. 2 players were at war and one of them couldn't end his turn so we all had to quit and rejoin the save. I was building a district that had 10 turns left to complete and when I got back into the game the AI had played 1 turn for me, the district only had 4 turns left to build.

It could be used as an exploit.

Yes it is an exploit but that is the nature of civ multiplayer.
I m always happy when any civ game has multiplayer but it has never worked well. You need to know (or get to know) the people you are playing with and they have to want to play the game as much as you do. If you win all the time the list of people to play with shrinks rapidly.

I remember talk of scenarios for civ6 multiplayer but i certainly haven't seen any, wonder what happened to that.

This cheat has been around forever, it's just that hotjoining isn't predicated on the planets alligning perfectly anymore, so it's become more frequent. It existed in 5 too. Just stick the AI on Prince, it's hopeless anyways
It's mostly compensated though by also having the AI move your stuff in non-sensical directions, just DoW him immediatly and he'll regret letting the AI "play" a turn for him...:p

There are worse MP cheats than this one... like playing Sumeria or Scythia.:D

Umm, there are multiple scenarios for Civ 6 Multiplayer.

Well, this cheat seems to be back in full force again... I caught two different duos doing it today. I wouldn't mind so much but they are always so damn obvious and *******s about it. This guy was in dead last in an 8-player game on Emperor. Suddenly he disconnects... his "friend" immediately says, "oh he does that all the time, I'll invite him back"... now where have I heard that before? (looks at first post... yup). Then he gets invited back and suddenly he is in 2nd in Science and in score... great miracle of miracles! Then he starts going on how he's doing so well. And of course they didn't pause the game since it needs to go one turn for the AI cheats to kick in... so damn obvious.

Why do some people need to cheat to make themselves feel important?

Well if you want to get away from chessy cheats like this stop playing pub lobby games and come to Civplayers Leagues discord server https://discord.gg/uBEpu3u

Lots of fun games, quitting is not tolerated and neither is cheating.

Unfortunately, I can't stand using things like Discord or TeamSpeak. You always get some kiddie with his mommy yelling at him to clean his room, or some such related nonsense.

lol, well Discord is a great communication and organizational tool...and I think you will find the players at Civplayers a tad more mature than that...
