AI Cheating?

I know this is an old complaint, but I have a hard time keeping up with an AI that gets 3 advances in 2 turns.

Playing DYP as the Americans.... The English and Indian players are litterally getting 3 advances every 2 turns. While it is possible to get 1 advance at turn and then share one, it seems unlikely that you would get an advance EVERY turn...

Anyone shed some light on this?

(Oh, we are in the modern era)

The AI does indeed "cheat" (or let's say it is programmed to use "different rules" than the human...), but not with regards to technology. For the AI as well as for the human it takes a minimum of 4 turns per tech. So there must be a "logical explanation"... Are three or four of them "cooperating" and circulating their techs?! Could it be they are using spies to steal techs? (You can steal any number of techs per turn, there's no limit. And if the difficulty level is high enough, the probability factor for AI espionage missions to succeed, is close to 99%... So it could be that you are part of this "tech circulation ring" without knowing it...)

And don't forget the difficulty levels make it easier for the AI to trade. The higher the difficulty, the less they pay each other (in comparison to you) for a tech trade. So they may take a few gold from an AI Civ while demanding your left leg. That makes tech trading 'easier' for the AI at higher levels while hamstringing the human player.

And, as you increase the difficulty, the tech cost becomes cheaper to the AI, as do building and unit costs. Upkeep doesn't change, however.

I believe AI's become more aggressive, but that might just be because they are stronger then me for a time.

The AI cheats? How could you possibly even think for a single moment that it would?

Hmm. Because it knows were all my units are at all times and can sense were uranium will appear though they don't even know Ironworking yet. :mischief:

But really, who's keeping track?

The AI can rush Great Wonders with MGL's? Never knew that, they always seem to rush some useless improvement.

Hmm, should have made the sarcasm stronger.

That was sarcasm? Now it seems pointless to post my 10 page dissertation on how the AI 'cheats'. :D
