i really hate it when i random my ai opponent, and 1 of them is venice. is there somehow i can completely disable venice in random roll as random opponent?
I already do this for my personalized mod which creates them Malamocco and Eraclea (Former capitals of the Venetian Republic) and gives Venice a presence in giving them powerful Guild nations that could pose a threat to most nations.Actually I remember a GREAT mod that basically gave them 3 cities they can found. Something like that would make them a real threat.
Actually think the thing is just that the AI can't handle Venice properly. The civ does great in human hands but as soon as it shows up as an AI in a game it ends up screwing the game over somehow (either by being eliminated or just by leaving room to an expansive neighbor that runs over the world)The thing about Venice was the 3 Guilds Change which forces two guilds in puppet cities that may not even take specialists. While also not proving to be a menace since they only have one factor of unit production which is their capital while everything else is just Gold-Bought.

I've never seen that happen, but that's just my observation.I dunno Venice does fine in most games.
==me too!G, you run a lot of AI tests right? Mind testing Venice AI on Deity and seeing how it does there? Also is it possible for me to do that myself, and if so mind linking me to a tutorial? I'd be happy to help test.
I wonder if difficulty level plays a role on how Venice does? I feel like Venice should do worse comparatively to other AIs on higher difficulties, but I haven't tested it or done the math.

Should I pick a civ, and would that civ not get the AI bonuses?Pretty easy. Download the Civ 5 SDK. Open the fire tuner. Enable fire tuner link in your config.ini. Open Civ. Start a game with deity settings and once started go to the players tab of the fire tuner and turn on auto play.
