The new patch notes claim there have been "AI improvements" and that the AI will now prioritise science and districts more. Have you seen any evidence to support this? What are your experiences so far of the patch?

I'm more looking forward too seeing how people handle diety with the dramatic ages mode.

I really hope other new game modes also scale with difficulty

These are the changes related do Science:

<Row ListType="ClassicalYields" Item="YIELD_SCIENCE" Value="150"/>
<Row ListType="MedievalYields" Item="YIELD_SCIENCE" Value="15"/>

Basically a gigantic boost to science preference in the Classical Era.

It's pretty noticeable in my game. 190 turns in and I feel like the AI is doing way better in keeping up science-wise.

So does this mean they basically spam campus and libraries in the classical era and then kinda ignore science and focus on other stuff in medieval?

I guess having a strong science base that early in the game helps them get a good Science per turn over the course of the rest of the game

Uh yeah...I got off to a rough start because of war with Hungary (he surprise war-ed me and did a flanking maneuver to attempt to take my capital with a massive warrior rush) and Pachacuti is a BEAST in science. He’s well in the mid hundreds and I’ve got about 1/3 right now, Lautaro is also ahead.

also there was a second flanking surprise rush from Matthias with a ton of horses soooooo...long story short I’m glad I was playing the Gauls but now I really need to catch up in science.

No, this boost actually stays for later eras too. It is like all civs will really start focusing on science. Maybe the idea was ok, but I am not convinced about the execution. 150% is too much - it is a sign that someone doesn't care about the balance. Other victories will suffer, imho. Kinda wanna see reports from people because I foresee that AIs will now basically focus on Science exclusively.

I do remember certain civs would focus on very different yields, such as Alexandra had his science below 100 but his military strength over 1000, and Seondeok had her science over 500 but culture around 150, etc.; which did feel a form of AI variety. If every single AI begin to enhance their science output at the same time that will be weird.
