AI is so stupid

I have read it here many times, but still :lol: laughing on how stupid AI is...
I am playing random game and got Russians and continents at the Monarch level
it's mid-industrial age and as usually i try to get Replaceble parts early enough (well just after theory of evolution)
so I have an entire continent of my own, Japanese is another strong force captured another continent, so rest of folks are on couple of medium size islands.
I have military academy so i built 4 infantry armied and have around 20 cossacks and lots (50+) of artillery. Japanese side started war first so I promptly loaded my troops on dozen or so galleons. We landed on a hill next to Japanese city. During first few turns of artillery bombardment Japan forces were smart enough not to attack my infantry armies.... Then I captured a city with Cossacks (I love Cossacks with their abilities to attack 3 times in a row, btw they all became elite in just few turns and I had 3 MGL in like 4 or 5 turns) and fortified an infantry armies in a city...
And this is the part when AI got really stupid. Then sent all the have to retake the city and.... without any artillery help at all...
So just in couple of turns they have lost more than 2 dozen cavalry units, and after that I was just rolling :rotfl: . Huge army came and it contained everything from spears to musketmen.... So my artillery folks leveled them to 1HP and Cossacks enjoyed making GL.
Japanese still has a huge continent, but I am afraid they have no army left to defend it.... Game is basically over and I was hoping to keep it going for a little longer.
 
In my current monarch game vs 12 AIs, they have attacked me one after
another since start :confused: . Each time I have battered them and
then got peace :D . Then they will wait a few turns and attack again.
I am in the power lead so they stay annoyed :eek: . So far I have about
7 MLs and 5 ARMYs (one for FP and another empty) ;) . After each initial
attack of several units which I defeat, the AI will send single units every
few turns for easy slaughter :hammer: . Hey to a fellow NCarolinian :D .
 
The AIs inability to handle inter-continental warfare is just the tip of the ice berg, and one of the less overwelming examples of AI incompitance to be had. The way they manage their workers(which they need to build 5x the number of infact), citizens & builds gets on my nerves the worst.
 
Recapturing lost cities seems to be a priority. They always counterattack with everything on the lost city, instead of attacking the lightly defended town they lost 5 turns ago.

It is not a bad strategy for blunting an attack, if it suceeds.
 
Yes, and I understand it can be a priority...
but they do it in a stupiest way possible... :wallbash:

True - they haven't even the sense to upgrade their army, and end up sending hoardes of knights and musketmen and medieval infantry, along with a few infantry and cavalry, to your their captured city with your some fortified infantry in it. What's their chance of winning? Not much!

What about a morale thing, where a unit with less than half the attack of the defending unit will not fight? Or fight with less hope (lessening their attack)? Just an idea
