First I would like to say hey!!! :salute: This is my first post, and it seems like this is a real friendly community and hopefully I can become a usual part of it.

I have played, and noticed the AI a little lacking. Searching around the forums it seems that the SDK isn't out yet, so alot of editing can't be done yet. I am wondering what files are available to modders that affects AI, since I would like to work on a AI Mod. If there is already one out there, does anyone have a link? If not, who wants to join the project? :rolleyes:

I have some ideas on what to approve, but before throwing them out there, I want to find out what is possible and what is not.

CIV4LeaderHeadInfos.xml - you can edit many aspects of leaders behaviour.
 
Alot is possible already. The problem is you need to start from scratch doing it. You can already, with python, control things like what they build, research, how they move units... I think pretty much anything but diplomacy. But you will be overriding the current AI code, not adding to it like should be possible with the SDK. By the time you're done the SDK might have been released and someone else already made a better AI with it :p
 
Is there an estimated time for the SDK release or is it "when it comes out, then it is out" ?
 
There was an estimated time, but since that has long passed it's "when it comes out, then it is out".

from what i hear from a programer of civ4 the patch and SDK are done and have been done for 2 weeks or so. its just waiting to be released
