AI popping dungeons and getting owned by epic spawn...

Is this a common problem? I just recently started playing FfH again (latest patch + more naval AI), and in the same game I had two different instances of civs getting destroyed by epic dungeon spawns :p (difficulty was probably monarch or prince).

I fired up the worldbuilder just to see what the fuzz was all about, and those creatures had become epic indeed; 150-200 xp tier 4-5 creatures are hard to defend against with bronze axemen.

I can't remember seeing stuff like this when I played FfH a couple of years ago.
 
The AI doesn't really understand about dungeons. It will simply explore them if a unit happens to stop on the square.

It's relatively rare that a civ will be wiped out from the dungeon spawns, but it can happen. If you had a barbarian unit with 200 xp, then it had indeed been running rampant. Do you happen to have a save from that game that I can look at ?
 
I must admit I haven't seen this very often. I suspect that the AI gets an exploration bonus on higher levels as it's common to see an AI scout come into my lands and open things, but rare to see any bad monsters spawned. I have seen the AI wiped out by wraiths though, which is presumably from an upgraded skeleton that won some battles.
