AI with nukes! Reality or a trick to scare you?

I remember back with CIV I, when I honestly got the diplo screen from the Zulus..with the message:-

"We demand that you give us the secret of writing, our word is backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!"

In 1700Bc, lying little b*****ds

I had a friend who owned Civ II and I played a couple of games at his place, and I remember the "our word is backed by nuclear wepons!" message well. I always thought it was true every time though at 1700BC? That's a good one!

I've never seen such a message in Civ IV though. I guess they've removed it. I never played Civ III

Unless there is a Harry S. Truman in Warlords it would be true to life. People don't like using nukes.

Yes but people Really like to HAVE them.

The problem with nukes is they are too weak, with Bunkers and SDI a nuke is just much too expensive. Ideally SDI sould be perhaps 2 techs farther away, (maybe move ICBM Nukes up one tech) and Nukes should cost something like 150-200.
