Air Combat needs some major improvements to make the game more balanced.
  • Bombers can destroy tile improvements
  • Dive bombers can damage planes in cities
  • Fighter interceptions do alot of damage or force the bomber to abandon its mission and retreat.
  • Air unit HP should be reduced to 50 or 25.

And Air Recon.

What I'll definitely try to implement is:
- improvements bombing with bomber/heavy bombers (road/railroads with small/fast and attack aircraft too)
- air recon with possibility of interception
- airports improvement (place aircraft outside of cities)

And interception forcing a bombing run to abort is a good idea, yes, but this one require the DLL.

What were they?

I want recon to be a mission for aircraft only. I also plan to raise the numbers of squadrons that can be loaded on carrier ( and limit them to small, specialised, aircraft only) so you can have one dedicated to recon.

And for the promotion, I also prefer to have specialized classes (like torpedo bomber) than to have P-51 squadrons using torpedoes...

I thought there is no solution to the current unit limit yet?! Therefore i suggested it might be easier to use existing bombers with promotions... I just thought the expense is too high to do all this when it is just a use case to make aircrafts more effective against ships, actually. Perhaps there is to much software engineer in me ^^

The Spitfire MkXVIE could carry 456kg worth of torpedos and the Fairey Swordfish Mk1 could carry 702kg of torpedos!
The Spitfire MkXVIE could carry 456kg worth of bombs, making it a strong attack-aircraft, or fighter-bomber.

Also, for fighter bomber, I'm glad to see that it has no ranged penalty.
