Airships

I dont actually want to see more flying 'combat' units, but I would welcome other flying units.

Flying "sail" airship is for example found in Ebberon campain setting for D&D so the fantasy fundation of these things should be preaty solid. I imange it to be a pure troop-transport, aka RaR for civ 3 :)

Sails or bags of air are both fine by me :)

I suggested the idea mainly as a transport with a low combat value. Would just add some spice to advanced civs :D

I really like the idea of a transport other than ships. I play on Cephalo's Creation mapscript almost exclusively, and all too often the seprate valleys are completely cut off by a 1-tile thick mountain ridge. There are no really good transport ships in FFH, so ferrying a 30-unit stack with privateers is irritating and dangerous.

Of course, it would be the same situation with airships too, but airships are so much cooler than boats.

Hehe exactly :)

I LOVE Airships :D

Please Kael, consider my humble request :)

Also agreed. This is almost motivation for me to learn about modding :)

I'd also love to see some fantasy flying units like airships, magical flying boats, griffin/Pegasus/whatever riders. In fact more fantasy creatures/monsters in general would be great. This is one of the few areas where FFH doesn't completely live up to Master of Magic, you just don't get those truly fantastic armies.

That said I get the feeling that this just isn't quite the atmosphere that Kael is trying to create. FFH's "dark fantasy" has a "serious" feel to it that might be disrupted by some of the goofier elements of traditional fantasy.

On the contrary fantasy requires fantastical creatures, but dark fantasy excludes things like care bears and fairies (well, that said, some fairies are really harsh, and do have a place in dark fantasty).

I don't think that civs should be using massive fantastical forces though. Even in fantasy, armies tend to be made up of the race which they serve, with a few "support" special units. Even in high fantasy LOTR settings, rarely do you find "mixed" armies, even between elves and men.

More variation in barbarian "hostiles" could be nice though :)

Yeah, I'd love to see barbarian "monsters" in the spirit of the hill giants and spiders. They should probably also start coming into your territory at some point when you start encroaching on their habitat.

And as I said, I'd love to see more fantasy creatures, I just wanted to mention that if Kael and the FFH team have a vision that doesn't include these elements then I respect that.

More "boss barbarians" would be interesting. For example a lair with an immovable barbarian beasty and some sort of treasure reward (or mana etc).

This could add interesting late game dungeons :)

I was thinking that maybe normal units could gain the "hero" promotion if they defeat certain monsters, although that might be gamed to easily.
