all messed up

k i dont know if this is my fault or the last patch definatly wasnt ready for beta... but i just installed it and it ocmpletely messed up my game. stuff like under Sid it said easiest not hardest and under chieften it said difficulty. the options had all mixed around and was so messed up i couldnt even turn the music off. can someone tell me if there is anything i can do about it or if theres another patch i can download that might owrk better?

Something goofed during your install. This is a known issue. Are you trying to patch with a different language? This might be the problem.

I think the common solution to this is to uninstall/reinstall. This should take care of the problem.

is there any other patches that are better tested? i dont wanna risk loosing it all again last time even after i reinstall i had to completely remove civ3 before i could get it to work.

You can try rolling back the patch. Go to your control panel, and select 'Add & Remove programs'. Find the 1.15 patch (or whatever it was) and remove it. Then redownload it, preferably from a different source. You should be able to find it in a couple of different places.

Make sure to back up your saves and scenarios (if any). It shouldn't delete them, but sometimes it could happen.

Other than that, I dunno.
