Who cares? Game sux without proper modding capabilities. Modderrs make Civ a better experience, far better than any crap these guys can put out. Civ 5 or Civ 7 im done with civ 6 its too vanilla/base for me.

Funny when some people write that Civ VI hasnt been as successful as previous civs.

Three years in the row it has been a Steam "Platinum seller" a group of 14 best selling games there.

Also every month it has outsold Civ V on Steam, even now it's one of the top sellers on Strategy games there.

Add to that the release for iPad and the upcoming Switch release so it's doing very well and 2KGames has faith in it.

Might as make Zheng He the leader instead of that cruel jerk Yongle......:p
As if Qin Shi Huang wasn't a cruel jerk :p

Qin burned books, while Yongle ordered their creation, which led to Yongle Encyclopedia, largest enyclopedia in history :P

At this moment civ 6 is only 500 players behind civ 5 on steam statistics (14:52 CET 29-09-2018)
Could this be because of the switch release? I found this to be strange as there is usually a much wider gap.

Maybe you just caught it as the weekend spike is ramping up? Here's the last eight months or so, with the R&F spike on the left. Both games have had pretty steady player levels since about May. Or maybe you're seeing the beginning of a new trend?

I wonder if IV had a lot more players than V going back 6-8 years ago? I say it definitely did when V was just in vanilla but I wonder after G&K was released?

Though IV is playable without Steam so not all IV players would be counted.

From my impressions of activity on this site, I would say that Civ IV had a lot more players even after G&K. Most of the Civ IV players on this site did not move up to Civ V and many have not gone to Civ VI either. But let us not derail this thread, all you need do is go to the Civ IV forum and read... :)

If there’s only one expansion left, I’d say we seem to be in something of a pickle. Behold:

Must-Have Civs:
Babylon
Byzantium
Carthage
Ethiopia
Inca
Maya
Portugal
Ottoman Turks

Really Ought to Have Civs:
Celts (Gaul)
Another Native American Tribe
Mali (or Songhai, I guess)
Polynesia (Maori?)

Other Civs Yet to Return:
Assyria
Austria
Hatti
Iroquois
Morocco
Siam
Sioux
Sweden
Venice (Italy?)
(Forget the Huns)

Plus they like to add New Civs:
Ashanti/Benin?
SW NA: Apache/Navajo?
SE NA: Cherokee/Creek/Choctaw?
PNW NA: Haida?
Hebrews? (I wish, ha)
Hungary?
Phoenicia?
Swahili/Kilwa?
Vietnam?

And we will likely only get 1-2 second leaders when we need them for several civs:
China
Egypt
England
France
Russia
(Plus where’s Isabella?)
And we’re likely to get one for America :/

If they only do one more XP with 8 civs and 1 leader, with no more DLC... a lot of favorites are going to be missed. Give us back our toys, Firaxis. Please? :)

The burning books thing might not actually be accurate, plus do we need another fat cruel jerk to represent China in the game?:p

If anything, we could use a fat cruel jerk who comes from a dynasty that wasn't represented with a leader yet, and whose empire did not collapse soon after his death :P

I am an absolute noob when it comes to matters like these, but for what it's worth, I came across a folder named 'Win64Portcullis' within my game files under the route Sid Meier's Civilization VI > Base > Binaries. It seems to be an empty folder and the only other folder within that directory is the one titled 'Win64Steam'. Just pointing it out in case the more knowledgeable members find it useful in our quest for even some tiny scrap of information about Schrodinger's Expansion.

Even as a great fan of Civ 5, I'd re-word that as "Most of the Civ IV players on this site did not move on to Civ V" :)

Something tells me we shall only get the last four of these.

That would be truly a shame, as the first four are some of my top favorites.
With the current lack of ancient Civs and leaders, I believe Babylon could be added and the city-state replaced with Niniveh. I prefer Babylon to Assyria.

I would say it would be horrible to leave West Africa out so I would put in Mali with the must haves. I might be in the minority but I would slightly want Assyria over Babylon, though both would be preferable.

My first thought is it sounds like Nintendo 64, and it's curious that the game was just released on the Switch, which goes back to cartridge based games which hasn't happened since the 64.
Edit: Maybe my mind is too much on Nintendo right now since I am planning on getting a Switch now, not necessarily for Civ though.
