Just going to use this thread post material and stories on the alt-right, to remind everyone what a nice bunch of people they are.

The first two posts taken from this now-closed thread.

https://www.splcenter.org/hatewatch...arged-killing-father-over-conspiracy-theories

Saw this horrific tale last week. 33-year-old living with his parents (absolutely no judgment on that) has a fit of paranoid rage and brutally stabs his own father, killing him.

Another story:

Remember reading about this days ago, a little apprehensively. According to this piece the intent was to 'change the optics' of the white nationalist movement, and dissociate it from the swastikas and racial slurs (to say nothing of violence) in Charlottesville. It looks like that didn't work; there was a heavy police presence and counterprotesters. What appears to have been the "main event" was cancelled by the organizers.

This was an interesting piece on the Hannah Arendt's Center's speaking invitation to an AfD leader from Germany:

To be clear the purpose of this thread is not debate, it is a place to put media stories and other info about the alt-right, to create a sort of chronicle.

We cant debate your argument?

Well, using anecdotal 'evidence' of questionably sane people led us to a drug war and the mass incarceration of primarily black men among other horrors...

Sounds polarizing and it kind of reminds me of an old saying, "when you wrestle with pigs you get full of mud." Somehow both the far-right and far-left always seem to find exactly what they set out to find, whether it's at a riot *cough* "protest" or on a website deep within their own respective echo chambers. Funny how that works.

Seems like a really paranoid and tiresome way to live, but to each their own. Perhaps I'm just too old and don't have much time left; would rather spend it with my grandkids, or making model planes.

The alt-right framed student protesters as pedophiles on Monday night. Within 90 minutes, even Donald Trump Jr. had bought into the hoax.

Mike Cernovich, an alt-right conspiracy theorist, was at Columbia University Monday night to give a speech to the school’s College Republicans club. But when students protested outside the event, trolls posed in front of them with a banner promoting NABLA: the North American Man-Boy Love Association. Cernovich and other alt-right figures quickly copied a journalist’s picture of the sign and tweeted it as evidence that the anti-Cernovich protesters were pro-pedophile.

I'm not sure why they say "even" Donald Trump Jr, as Donald Trump Jr is so stupid I'm sometimes surprised he's able to breath and walk at the same time.

Probably belongs in the other thread, but if these people were affiliated with the Republicans group, then in what way are they "alt-"?

Well I only read the bit you quoted, not the full article, but my understanding was that a group of people pretending to be associated with the protesters displayed NABLA banners. Presumably an attempt to paint the protesters in a bad light. These people don't seem to be identified as anything other than "trolls", but since the protesters were protesting an event at the Republicans club, it would seem logical to assume they (the "trolls") are associated with that organisation, or at least supporters of it. Wouldn't that make them mainstream right rather than alt-?

Not sure. It also depends on what you mean by 'association.' Now that the Republican Party is Trump's party, that hard distinction (you can't be alt-right if you're affiliated with or support the Republican Party) has grown a lot less valuable.

Well...

Somebody said ‘hey can you hold this for a second?’ They were disguised as antifa.

Inside at Cernovich’s speech, the alt-righter also accused protesters of supporting pedophiles. “He kept saying ‘you support pedophilia,’ repeatedly,”

It is rather commonplace to accuse the social justice left of normalising pedophilia, and not without merit (at certain publications they probably have a big note on the office fridge: "no more damn pedo articles, we always have to take those down after a fecalstorm"), so it might be coincidental.
Then, being familiar with Mr. Cernovich's work, i think, saying it likely isn't rates as a very conservative bet.

Okay. Not sure how that's a response to what I said, but thanks.

That's some HILARIOUS trolling. Way more interesting than the people who just repeat accusations over and over again.

Interesting how you act so concerned about false rape accusations then when presented with what is, in essence, a false rape accusation this is your reaction.

The difference is that this is not against a specific person.

Well, other people are welcome to contribute news and information about the alt-right as well.

Sorry for the double-post but I found this utterly inappropriate piece of Alt Right memery that I felt like I have to condemn by sharing it here:

An image showcasing a person who apparently measures by different standards was shared on The_Donald.
I have censored the swear words and the name of the person, but the image is big, so I'll put it below a spoiler anyway.
