(My first mod!)

Always War Mod


Description is simple: This mod makes all units' nationality hidden, therefore there is no peaceful interaction at all between any Civs.

DOWNLOAD IT AT:

Just extract the files you need into your Scenarios. Vanilla = .bic, PTW = .bix, C3C = .biq.


BONUS FOR C3C USERS:
If you think it gets too easy because the AIs don't cooperate as in regular AW, try setting it to Hero, Demigod, and so on. It gets so amazingly difficult...

WARNING:
On the higher C3C difficulties, game gets a bit slower (with all the bonus units the AIs get :eek:)

Great mod for some extra aggressivinity(spelling?).

Shouldn't this be in Completed Mods instead of Completed Scenarios? :mischief:
 
I would suggest that to get players using it you may want to put up some details and screen shots. What is different, other than the hidden aspect? All units the same? All rules the same?

Is it just the AI that have no means to deal with each other? IOW humans use a different interface, so I would expect they could still use F4 to make deals, etc.

What settings have you used it on?
 
I've used it on all settings, all units are the same, all the rules are the same, except that all the units are hidden nationality.

You can't meet a civ with a hidden nation unit, iirc? If you can't meet one, you can't make deals?

I get it, you do not actually declare war, just whack them like privateers. Maybe I can get a chance to try it, could be interesting.
 
Mind you I speak Russian too, and if you could please explain why it is кал exactly? Tell me how to improve it?

I ran into a dead end. I had two swords standing next to Adrianople (Byz) and could not attack? I had movement and they had a spear inside. I was able to attack two swords just outside the town.

Kind of hard to play, if you cannot attack towns. Hero looks to be about the same as DG. I have played AWDG on several sizes of maps and it is a real chore, if you are on a pan map and even worse, if you use more civs.

To me anything above AWE is going to be work, not fun. You can do it, but it will wear you out, if solo. Bad enough in an SG. So why add in all those difficulty levels?

The real question is the not being able to attack towns by design? All the units in the field were as you said, barbs. The town had a color, but the unit in it did not.

I turned off VP, does that make any difference. I never like those spires.
 
Yeah and that cannot be done as we cannot make contact. They will not show up in F4, so dead end. Sad as I had a nice start spot and my first archer went elite on first battle.
 
From what I have seen Civinator say in his CCM thread, it sounds like it is just some type of hardcoded thing which allows the AI to do so, but not the human player. Only time human player can do so is if at war with the civ.

Perhaps drop Civinator a PM and see if he can assist with any information... he is quite resourceful and has dealt with this issue quite a bit I believe.
 
If it was a scenario, you could do it as you could place all the nations and put them at war and then the Hidden Nationality thing is not an issue. The problem then is you have only one map.

I have no idea how you could get around it otherwise.
