Amazed by Magic

I've only been playing for a short time but I'm loving Fall From Heaven it really rekindled my interest in Civ IV. In my last game a huge war basically came down to a fight between mages. I had maybe 20 champions upgraded with iron 4 of a more powerful unit that I forget and 8 archmages (4 lich). Their mages used some colateral damage spells to take all of my regular units out of the fight but what won it for me was the Earth Elementals that just stormed over everything given enough time. I spent a ton of hammers on all these other units just to use them only to defend captured cities. The whole magic system really adds some amazing moments to the later game.

Yeah, Fall from Heaven combat without magic is just... Civ IV.

Idk ... I quite enjoy myself as the hippus, magic or no magic. However, I enjoyed magic much moreso back when Law 3 was Unyielding Order.
