An Error with the 'Mods' Button and Steam

Hello,

My Civilization V application is no longer running properly with Steam, and there seems to be another Civ V copy somewhere hidden on my computer that is running instead that I have yet to find. I am using a Macbook Air with Mavericks. I have Gods & Kings.

I have edited my Civ V application's menu.lua code so I can access the 'Mods' button in the main menu of the game, but every time that I go back and try to play the game, the 'Mods' button doesn't appear.
For some unknown reason, my Civ V application is labeled 'Gods & Kings' instead of 'Civilization V', so I think that maybe Steam isn't recognizing G&K as the Civ V copy to run, so it doesn't run that copy, but runs another Civ V copy that I have yet to find; even after I have searched for several hours over continuous periods of time.
I have installed and uninstalled Civ V many many times on this computer to try to this problem, but so far, nothing is working.
Clicking the G&K copy shows up with a message telling me that Steam isn't open, even when I have it open and on the Civ V homepage on Steam.

When G and K is enabled as DLC in steam it will auto launch when you click on Civ5 in steam. You have to give steam the purchase code to enable it as DLC.

I had Civ V installed on another computer with G&K, so I have already used the purchase code. G&K is already enabled as a DLC in steam, and G&K is enabled in the game, too. G&K is enabled anywhere it can be enabled on my computer, as far as I know. Despite all of this, when I click the G&K copy of my game it says that it steam is not open and unable to launch. However, when I click 'Play Game' in steam, it launches without a problem. But the 'Mods' button is not there, which I added to the game in the G&K copy in the menu.lua file.
