Canada... eh.
This is a story based on a game that I played a while back, but also with some ideas I got while doodling in Math class. It may seem like a modern war at the start, but'll get some sci-fi elements as the tale progresses.
-The nation names are changed, but some units in each nation will be reflective of the country played.
-The units used in the battles may be changed.
-And a whole bunch of other stuff may be changed from what actually happened in the game
If anyone wants the details of the game, I'll PM them.

Ambush

A helicopter flew over the jungles of Noratia. The jungles were dense, and no movement was seen down below. Inside the helicopter was 10 men, gearing up for battle. The one in the middle was Corp. Peter Harley, firearms specialist of the second squad. The man across from him, Corp. Bill Deforrest, was the firearms specialist in the first squad. Just as Peter was inserting a clip into his assault rifle, Bill reached over with his hand outstretched.
"Hey!" He said, "I'd just want to say, good luck out there!
Peter stuck in the clip, and moved his assault rifle to his left hand, sticking his right one out to shake Bills' hand. And then...
A thunderous explosion shook the helicopter, and partially blew a hole in its' floor. Bill must have lost his balance as he flew backwards, smashed his head into the hull, and fell down through the hole, disappearing into the jungle.

The helicopter came under small arms fire, most likely from Noratian Guerrillas. The irony of the situation came from the fact that the men inside the helicopter were supposed to BE guerrillas themselves. Obviously this job could not be finished. Another explosion shook the helicopter as a result of an RPG launch. Now, the helicopter, save for the cockpit, had entirely no floor. A soldier whose name Peter did not know again, like Bill, banged his head on the wall and began to fall out, but Peter quickly reacted and grabbed his leg. The dangling, flailing, panicked man was soon shot three times in the back, and stopped flailing.
"Drop him, dammit!" Someone yelled
Peter did, and then the pilot, from the cockpit, screamed something a bit more morbid.
"I've lost the controls!"
Another rocket hit the helicopter. This one was the one that did it, As the section which contained Peter's seat detached from the rest. Peter saw the cockpit go down in flames as well as a bunch of his comrades falling through the air, under small arms fire all the time....
Meanwhile, in another, more hilly location down on the Eastern Front, black hole seemingly ripped through space, sending rocks and a section of wall out through it. The other four items that came out was Two seemingly living humans, a corpse and bones from what was once human. The rip in space and time was extraordinarily loud, and quite large. Several hills down, a group of humans got into an armoured vehicle, and drove towards the now dying down black hole.

I've been getting no response, so I'll add another chapter as soon as I get THREE comments on the story. This will go on for every chapter!

Good idea with the comments-But write the chapter on Word in advance, so you can cut and paste as soon as comment 3 is made.
Any pics, or is the game to far back for recovery? Even if you can't get screenies; real pictures can be good too. Keep it up.

Sounds interesting... Then again, dimensional/Space/time portals tend to make any situation more interesting than it already was (especially if the portal is Space Time and Dimensonal all at once ;) )

Well, Lucky for you, It is!

-Roanoke, next time, I would expect a more in depth comment, like a reflection on the chapter or something.
-This game was from a while ago, and I didn't expect I would be using it for a story.
Arrival

Peter opened his eyes, and the first thing he felt was the intense pain in his jaw. He didn't remember much, except that he managed to open his emergency chute and bash himself on something before making it to the ground. That probably explained why his jaw hurt so much. He got up and was shocked to find a pool of blood where his head was on the ground. He must have hit himself pretty severely, his jaw could be fractured or even broken. He coughed, and it hurt.
He looked around the clearing where he landed. The sight was not pretty. Some of his comrades had managed to open their chutes, like him, but it obviously did not matter as they all lay, shuteless or not, with blood all around them.
He found a pistol in one of the dead mens' hand.
Won't be doing him any good.
He took the pistol, and, behind a chunk of the helicopter, found a small jungle path. He began to walk.

Back in the hilly area, one of the still alive men stood up, and thrust his left palm forward, as if yelling 'Stop!' to some invisible person. He wore a helmeted suit which hid his face entirely. From the back of his helmet, two spikes protruded. His armour was blackish-gold and he was fairly tall.
He turned around and saw a parked armoured vehicle with three men, with rifles, in front of him. They wore brown-black armour, and were in combat uniform. They wore bright orange goggles and a helmet which obscured everything but their mouths. They wore black skirts over their combat pants and boots, probably to denote rank, or just for show. They did not move or react to the man. Infact, they were frozen in time.
Behind his helmet, the man smiled. He then moved his left palm sharply backward.
Suddenly, the men came to life. They apparently did not notice they were frozen in time. The raised their assault rifles towards the armoured man. The man took a step forward. Immediately, the soldiers opened fire.
Once again, the armoured one thrust his right palm forward, and the bullets stopped, floating in time. He ran up to the soldier on point, grabbed his gun, and shot him and one of his comrades, The bullets inside the barrel of the rifle moved ever so slightly, then stopped. He quickly ran and hid behind the armoured vehicle, after which he unstopped time.
The two men were shot instantly, and the one remaining could only stand in confusion. Mr. Armour guy got out from behind the vehicle. The remaining soldier saw him, but before he could do anything, Mr. armour guy thrust his RIGHT hand forward. This created a rectangular shape encompassing the last soldiers body. The soldier looked puzzled, but his confusion turned to horror as he saw he was getting smaller, being sent back in time. Eventually he became a teenager, child, infant, and finally, disappeared.
The armoured man smirked in his helmet, and walked away from the scence.

Well, I can see that this thread is getting views, but no comments! Comments would be nice. Especially if this thread is to continue.

What is up with armor guy??? The power to bend time and space??
A good twist.

Well, right now this tale is on the verge of closing down, cause I'm getting views but not comments. That has led me to believe that people read and aren't interested. If that is the case, then please comment and say what you think should be improved or change. If it isn't, continue not commenting and I'll just abandon this thread.

Well... Not everybody who reads feels the need to comment on a story.

I'm thinking that Mr. ArmorDude has been dipping into Tesla and Einstein's research.....

Sorry, some poeple tned to hold back until deep into the story.

What year are we thinking of?

- The year the story takes place in is maybe slightly post-modern, but remember, the men in armour came through a Space, Time, And Dimensional rift...

Awakening

The second armoured man woke up to the sight of a human skull. Not very pretty. He gasped, and leaped to his feet. It was dark outside. He wore an armoured suit very similar to that of this first man, except he had 8 spikes sticking out the back instead of two, making his head look like a hedgehog. His armour was light-blue. He turned around, and saw nine pairs of glowing, orange eyes in the distance.

The eyes moved forward, and became visible as helmeted men, dressed in black armour. Some were dressed in full trenchcoats, others in half with Kevlar covering their torso and above. They each carried assault rifles.

"Halt!" Yelled one, his voice sounding synthesized.

The second armour guy, not wanting to cause trouble, put his hands up onto his head, and got on his knees.
"Arair..." He mumbled as the nine armoured men took him away into a dropship.

Peter progressed slowly through the jungle. It was getting quickly dark, and his sweat attracted mosquitoes. After walking for a while, he came upon a bend in the jungle path. He noticed that in turned right, but, looking through the brush jungle at the spot where the path turned, he saw a clearing, which, if he followed the path, he would probably get to. But there was someone else in the clearing. Three men, each wearing army fatigues. One of them was standing in front of the two others, In a position of authority. He had a holstered pistol, while the other two had assault rifles.

"Did you get them all?" Asked the one with the pistol.

"Well... We shot the ones which didn't look dead." Replied one.

"Say what?"

"Well there were several guys already lying there with a pool of blood around them... We didn't bother wasting ammo on them..."

" !!! I swear, if you come back here and tell me that some of them are missing, I will-"

He never got to finish his sentence, as Peter, in a fit of rage, shot him, in the head, through the brush. He crumpled immediately to the ground, and the other two jumped up in surprise, and began to run. Peter emerged through the brush, and shot them both. He grabbed ones' assault rifle and continued to walk down the path.

Good update-
I'm guessing the guys with the pools of blood around them were Mr. Armor Guys victims.

As to lack of comments-a lot of guests (people without a CFC username) read stories (there are 10 in the S&T section right now), but don't post because they can't. I know I did before I got my membership, so don't think that all members are making views and not posts.

Erm, not exactly no. Remember that there are two stories going along simultaneously here, in two different locations. Mr. Armour Guy 1 (the one that seems not so good) is, as far as we know, still in the hilly area. Mr. Armour Guy 2 (the one which surrendered) is... well, we don't know yet.

The people with the pools of blood around them were Peter's comrades who had failed to open their chutes before falling. Since peter had broken/fractured/dislocated his jaw, creating the large amount of blood in his head area, the two scouts must have been lazy and thought he was dead already, or didn't want to waste bullets making sure.

-Hullo there everyone. Crawled out of my ditch, and typed an Update. [party] :deadhorse: :newyear: :hatsoff:

Rebuttal

Peter continued walking down the jungle path. He probably couldn't tell if he was going in circles, but he stayed at attention just in case, and because of that, when he heard footsteps up ahead, he was prepared. He expertly jumped off the path, into the dense brush, without making a sound, and waiting.

In a short while a group of three men, two with rifles and one with an RPG, came past. Peter waited until the had gone past, then expertly exited the brush, not being noticed.

Needless to say, he shot them all.

Walking up to the bodies, he noticed that the RPG had a very high explosive round inside, and would be useful, so he grabbed it and held it over his shoulder. It wasn't THAT heavy, but wasn't a pushover to carry either. He scavenged whatever ammunition he could, and continued walking down.

It wasn't a long time later when he heard noises, this time over his radio. They were very faint, but very clear.

"Helllp..."

He jumped at the noise. Judging from the clarity, the message must have been coming from near him. He whispered back.

"Yes? Where are you?"

"In the brush... My helicopter was shot down... My parachute... Too late..."

Peter didn't totally trust the voice, but he couldn't risk leaving a fellow soldier behind.

"Can you give me a signal?"

"I have a bright LED light on my helmet... I think I can flick it on... Yeah, there it goes."

To Peter's left appeared a dot, through the brush and dark. He walked towards it, fearing the worst...

Arair walked away from another group of men he had just slaughtered. In fact, he was slightly bored, as these men, even with their fancy orange goggles, tanks, and artillery, still couldn't stand up to him. The people THEY were fighting were even worse, their numbers even smaller. He knew it wouldn't be long until he came upon another group of fighting people, and he did. They didn't seem to notice him in the darkness, too busy killing eachother. He intervened, however, by stopping time just as Group As' tank round was just about to miss a whole mob of Group Bs men. He ran over to the round, redirected it, and proceeded to run back to Group A, where he actually climbed into the tank, took a grenade off the gunners belt, pulled the pin, and got out. He ran to cover, and unfroze time. The first explosion came immediately, the second soon after. He mopped up any remaining Orange Goggles with a pair of pistols he had found. Arair walked further through the hills.

It wasn't long until he came upon a pleasant change of scenery. A dropship, from Group B, lay mangled and crashed beside a cave. He walked up to the ship, which had the words "Aynia's finest" carved into it. There didn't seem to be anyone alive, until a shot was heard into the cave and a man from Group A walked out. Arair smirked, and walked towards him.

If the orange goggle men were too easy a challenge for Arair, did he let himself be captured earlier?

If the orange goggle men were too easy a challenge for Arair, did he let himself be captured earlier?

You've got it confused... Arair is the first armour guy, who killed everyone. The second armour guy is the one that got captured.

Oh, so Armor Guy 1 and Armor guy 2 were together and number 2 was moaning for Arair. I get it now.
Keep writing, its very good.
