ANARCHY!!!

Now Leonardo's workshop has been built the Greeks have desended in to anarchy!

Who knows what the future will bring...

The Greeks are now a republic.

Money is flowing in and people seem to be working harder in far away cites :)

I am still not making as much money as ERIKK :hmm:, but at least I am producing more shields...

Turn 161
:hmm: Are you producing more shields? I have to sent some inspectors to check this...

Speaking of inspectors: the Spanish have requested an weapons inpectors party to be sent to Greece as Greece is now formally known to the world as a rouge state; after brutally exterminating the poor French some decades ago! ;)

Consul ERIKK

The French?

Never heard of them ;)

:splat: :hammer:

The poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, poor, AI.
:D

roflmao
That is pitiful! :D :D :D

The non agression agreement ended.... The Americans decided to move fast to secure our freedom in this hostile world. The Americans have recently seen an rapid growth in the Greek military. This made the decision for an quick pre-emptive strike look wise. Reports from the battlefield tell us that the Greeks were totally unprepared!

After our attack:

In the first strike 7 Greek hoplite batallions were destroyed and 4 workes were captured. One cavalry batallion was lost after some herioc fighting! We now await the Greek counteroffensive....

Here is the before pic at the start of my turn:

175.before.jpg

First I attacked the mountain in my territory with 2 muskets and 1 Cavalry from the Americans defending. I lost 1 Cav, and got a Cav promotion to elite taking it back.

Next I took a freebe of 4 workers and 1 cannon from ERIKKs mountain, and another 4 workers just to the south. (In fact these 4 were my workers ERIKK had captured the turn before).

Next, I move my Stack of Doom on to ERIKKs mountain right next to his city:

Greek SoD en route to Istanbul

Here is a final pic of the area at the end of the turn:

As you can see I have an army :D

I got a leader about 15 turns ago when I was taking out the French.

But when I moved my Hops on to the mountain with my SoD I pressed J instead of ctrl-J

Well, the Americans ****ed up this turn and the turn before as it seems:
- the American generals forgot that there was a road on that hill and were very suprised to see an army at the gate of Istanbul. This costed us like 8 workers a cannon and resulted in a big hole in the front! We thought this space was unreachable for the Greek cavalry...
- the American generals forgot this turn to move more 5 musket troops in Istanbul :nospam: Now there is only one. This will probably result in the fall of Istanbul and all my western cav's.
- this last fault resulted in having to replay this turn (146) because I forgot to take pics and excited. This costed me another 15 minutes. The loses are about the same I think, or a bit more on my side. I need sleep! It is hard to focus when the **** hits the van...
- but the largest and most important mistake I made was the sheer number of horses the Greeks were able to upgrade!!!!!!!

Casualties:
Greek: 1 army, 4 cav's, 4 hop's
American: 6 cav's, 2 mid. inf's

The Americans have lost! Not by their stupid mistakes (which they obviously have made). They would have lost anyway as the Greeks had 100 cavs, 40 hoplites + an army and we only 20-something cavs! This difference was not properly shown in the histograph so we were overwhelmed and hadn't enough military to stop them. If the Greeks were peacefull builders, America had good chances with their large and productive cities and hugh cash flow....

Game stuff:
- the americans had handbuild a forbidden palace not very far away from the capital.
- the Americans had almost build Copernicus. They allready had the Pyramids, Colossus and Sun Tzu. Good wonders for surviving a normal game.
- the Amercans had a normal defense force of about 40 muskets all posted at the border. We were aiming for defense only.

Anarres will post our log of the last hours where more things are explained. Congrats Anarres, well done! :goodjob: It was fun to play and I learned alot about playing against a human (well, eeeehhh, against Anarres ;) ). For everybody: do not let you guide by the power-histograph. Anarres had more than twice as much units but according to this thing just about 10% more than me!

And now it is time for my bed!

Here is the power-histograph of the beginning of turn 176:
