I hoping that a good mapmaker will help me with my quest for some maps of Ancient Britain. I'm speaking here of the 360x412 sized map that is displayed in the game set-up screens.

The British tribes are in Anno Domini, which I'm working on a BNW version. There is a helpful map here:

If you wish to know some city names, they are available here: http://www.roman-britain.org/british-tribes.htm - click on the tribe name and there's information including key cities.

The tribes I'm particularly interested in are:
Brigantians
Coritani (to be named Corieltauvi)
Iceni
Carvetti
Dobunni
Dumnonii
Atrebates
Belgae
Cantiaci
Parisi

Whilst I realise that this is a huge request for ten maps, I'm hoping that they can all be done using the same main image, in the same style by the same artist. I want to include a special "Ancient Britons" game within Anno Domini.

So you're wanting a separate map for each one? What about colour schemes, should they all be the same too? I can't promise 10 maps, but I'll do my best to get at least a couple done and then post the .psd if you want them all similar styles so that someone else can take up the mantle.

Also, are you wanting them all to be of the whole of Britain, or could I zoom in on the South-west for the Dumnonii map, for example?

Thanks for any help you can give!

I'm not too fussed whether it's a whole-of-Britain or zoomed in; nor am I concerned about colour styles. What I was thinking though was that if you had the whole of Britain that these civs collectively covered - i.e. modern-day England, did a "master" copy where no particular civ was highlighted, but the borders were in, then used that copy to highlight individual civs - basically ten maps created from the master (if you understand what I mean!)

Great stuff! It would be fab if they were all in the same style, but I'd appreciate any help.

I also want to help. Do you have a list of leaders?

Wow!! Thanks!!

Here's some more info then on each civ (the leaders of the first three civs are female, the rest male). The city names are the names at the time - we're looking at 1st Century AD for these maps - and the modern names of the cities are in brackets so that you can see them on a map to understand where exactly they are. In some cases, I don't have the ancient names, so the modern ones will have to suffice. I don't expect all the names on the maps, but I've given a few so you can chose what looks best.

One minor niggle - the choice of blue for Dumnonii makes it looks like Cornwall, Devon and bits of Somerset have flooded - which is at least topical!

They look brilliant in-game!

Thanks to Pouakai and Viregel for their offer of help too. Cheekily, I'll mention to you both that if you still would like to do a map for Anno Domini, which would be a massive help to me, my current "to do" list is:

Aksum, under Amanirenas, 4th Century BC
Iona, under Fidelma, 4th Century AD
Hyksos, under Khamudi, c. 1550 BC
Etruria, under Lars Porsenna, 6th Century BC
The Nok, under Obatala, c. 1000 BC
Hurrians, under Tish, 21st Century BC

Many thanks for anyone who can help!!

Heh, sure. Also, is "Iona" the one off the west coast of Scotland? I've been there a couple of times, but I couldn't imagine it being a civ. :p

It is! It actually makes a good Civ for the mod, but in real life would have been no match for Rome/Egypt/Persia and the like!

Here's a map:

EDIT: In fact, this map I just found is more or less what I'm looking for. I'll apply some folded paper texture to it and see what we have.
