I'm not sure about that- even Pontus would would be more like a united Japan, while one of the individual clans is, on a pan-Asian scale, something like a single-province rebel settlement. I mean, Shimazu start with, what, half of Kyushu, an area slightly smaller than Wales, while the Ming Empire was rather larger than the entire European Union.
