Here's a thread for dumping my finished animated SMAC models that I started 9-10 months ago. I have since put custom animations on them (idle, ranged fortify, ranged strike, die, and die fade) and used some Final Frontier effects for the weapons. I haven't done sounds yet. Because they use Final Frontier effects I think they can only be used with BtS.

So far I have 3 different weapon foils done and a chaos jet. They all use the same chassis, armor type, and have different reactors. I plan on doing a few variations of them all in case anyone wants them. I think the Planetfall mod is going a different direction with units so having an individual nif for every possible unit combo isn't practical for them, but since I did the modeling work last year and am practicing animating now I figured they might have a use.

First off, the Chaos Needlejet. I can add the other weapons to this unit and have plans for a missile launcher as well.

Next the Particle Impactor Foil with Singularity reactor.

and the chaos foil with same reactor.

and finally the fusion cannon foil.

and a bonus pic of a foil after defeat.

Excellent units!:goodjob: (Very mindful of Alpha Centauri, if I may say so)

Going on a limb here: any chance of some Star Trek units?

Thanks guys.

Maybe, but these were easier since I was using 8 year old pics as a basis. Star Trek models have a higher standard to live up to I think.

Thanks. I hope to have the missile launcher figured out tonight and have plans for some rovers. The copter is coming as well.

Well, these "textures" are 9 or so months old and I was aiming for the old SMAC feel. I haven't touched the dds since then on them. Sprucing them up is certainly possible, but I've never done anything with gloss. Is it painful?

Gloss is simple to use. To make a gloss texture, start with the original texture and convert it to greyscale. Then, lighten the portions you want glossier, and darken the portions you want flatter. Use black for any portions of the texture that you want no gloss.

You're right, ofcourse - still: at present Star Trek mod has, like, none (so you'd be setting a standard)...;)

Fusion Rover added to first post. Comes with some fiery death effects from Firaxis.
