Ank11 - Cultural Domination Again

2027AD (0): Looks around. All the settlers for former Russia are in the area. I will try to get some of Egypt, and maybe Germany.

IT: The Egyptian add the SS thrusters to their ship. The Egyptians land six tanks and a War Chariot on the north island.

2028AD (1): Rush an airport on the northern Zulu/Egyptian island for... 12 gold. I'm sorry guys, but I abandon How to take towns and Avaris in order to save (hopefully) Randomton.

That lost four tiles, but if we settle HTTT in a better location, we gain four tiles back, plus two if we resettle Avaris.

City founded in Rome, gives us six tiles.

After two propaganda tries, Kiev flips! Gains nine tiles.

Another city founded, netting four tiles.

Thanks for the great set-up!

Four tiles lost, nineteen tiles gained. Fifteen tiles.

IT: Randomton survives, Airport finished, reinforcements coming.

2029AD (2): Several propaganda tries at Pompeii fails.

The long infrastructure builds in Germany are changed to Tanks, Settlers, Infantry, and Artillery.

Take a count:

13 settlers needed in Egypt - 12 on the way, one due next turn in Rome.
5 settlers needed in Rome - all there
2 settlers needed on northern island - One on the way, other under construction on said island
12 settlers needed in Germany - 9 there, five due next turn.
4 settlers needed in England - Are you paying attention? Save.

IT: The Egyptians counterattack on their island.

MANDATORY RETIREMENT YEAR 2050

That scared me. The box was in the exact same shape as when a file was missing.

First time I've seen that in, umm... about 5 years.

2030AD: Not much, I guess. Just positioning settlers and troops.

2031AD: Found two cities in Egypt and gain eight tiles. Found a city in Russia and gain six tiles. 69 tiles left.

2032AD: Found two cities, one in Egypt, one on north island, gaining ten tiles. 59 tiles left. Found a city in Russia. 54 tiles left.

Notes to the next player:
- Umm... settle? Settlers are mostly in the general area where they're supposed to settle
- We have enough settlers to settle the rest of the world, unless we lose some
- Beware sub attacks! I got some on my turns
- There's one more city to be settle on north island
- We only have 54 tiles left...

I got us 39 tiles, or almost 8 tpt. :D

Nice job. 3tpt puts us at the goal in 2050 but we might not want to cut it that close.

We won't be able to get anything from Germany unless we can provoke them. If really, really needed we could leave a boarder town undefended and make up the loss w/ the dozen or so settlers we have in the wings.

Cleo has four spaceship parts but I'll bet she doesn't have any in the works. And more power to her if she does because that means she's not making tanks.

How often can you propagandize a city without wasting your money? I think you need to wait three turns for planting a spy but is there any need to wait a similar period for attempting a flip.

Good job, Tomoyo! :goodjob:

I guess I am up... let's see how many turns I get done.

2033AD [1]: 48 tiles left..

Make that 44.

IBT: Rome wants peace... but isn't willing to give anything for it. No way, go home.

2034AD [2]: Kick Bizzy out... or try to, he declares. Time for settler swarming. :hammer:

Too bad we have quite few troops in Germany... let's see what comes ou of this.

If I have counted right, 33 tiles to go...

2035AD [3]: Some of our mobile troops help enforce the curfew which some Roman bowmen broke... their guns were taken away.

24 tiles..

Kill the panzers that weren't destroyed when they attacked.

TPT was a pretty good 10, thanks to the great setup by Tomoyo. :goodjob:

I believe... Bede is up if I'm not mistaken.

Great. 15 turns left and 24 tiles. I shouldn't need to see this again. :D

Got it.

See what I can do tonght.

Bede said:
Got it.

See what I can do tonght.

Three and done.

2035-2036 Gain 10 tiles through cultural expansion. 10 to go

Lose 3 after Germans take the little ville between Frankfurt and Nuremburg.

2036-2037 Pick up thirteen in Egypt and Gemany with intrepid settling in the gaps,

In 2037 our Egyptian and German outposts hold.

In 2038 Shaka the Magnificent rules the world.

Woohoo!!! A chance to use smilies I haven't used in a long time!

The Romans attacked!

And we retreated into the sea...

Then, we attacked back! :sniper:

And from there, it was us against the clock. :hammer:

And we won! :yeah:

:band: :thanx:  :spear:

Great game team!!!!

All the way to the bleedin' end but we did it......

Nice!

Well done everyone. Thanks for letting me in on the fun. It was a very interesting twist.

Regards,

John

Great job, Bede, finishing it so fast. :goodjob:

It was tough in the 1900's, when we were suffering hard WW and had to waste a ton of turns to anarchy... but then our monarchy started to pay off as we could keep at war as long as needed.

This is a game I won't want to do again on continents at least... it's a lot harder than on a pangaea... :ack:

But, thanks to everyone who had the time and energy to play it to the end - I almost didn't. :goodjob: :hatsoff:

Did anyone else realise that we got a very important tech (Computers) on the very last turn?

Had a nice set-up to work with thanks to you guys. All I had to do was plant some towns and push enter.

We also had 219,000 culture points, growing nearly 1100 per turn and 170 cities, towns and villages.....

Great fun in the end once we got tracked towards what needed to be done.

Great job guys!

I know I would never be able to play such a game with the amount of MM needed. How many cities did you end up with anyway? Looks like at least 100-120?

150 at the end of my last turns, plus whatever Ankka and Bede then got.

Good to see we got a delurk from before I registered!
