Anno Domini progress report

Please take a break from playing WOW and complete this mod.Have in mind there are so many people waiting for this, personally speaking even much more than waiting civ 4.Anyway you have done a great job so far in every aspect.Congratsulations R8XFT

I'm trying my best to finish it off, but there's still work to do before the release. There's a handful of flavour buildings/techs to add (to ensure things are balanced), some pieces I want to add to the diplomacy.txt and the civilopedia, though almost completed, still needs some work.

I am mindful that there are people waiting to play and I'm sorry that it's disappointing keeping waiting. Please be equally mindful that in order to make it worth playing, these modifications need to be put in before the release. If I have a productive weekend (for me that's Sunday, Monday, Tuesday) next week, it'll be near as dammit ready - but that depends on how productive the weekend is (don't forget I have a life too ;) ).

Well I second the "take as long as you need" thing...but on the other hand..HURRY UP...

no, seriously I am eager to try this mod, but dont want it half done...just expressing desire to play

I think the release of this mod will be quite an event for CivIII. First, because it is a good mod, with a good concept well executed - I think many people are keen to play a mod that focuses on the ancient and medieval periods, and R8XFT has really put in a lot of effort to make it as atmospheric and detailed as possible. But second, this mod should spur a lot of scenario creation. It very much lends itself to this. Once it's out, people will be able to make scenarios based within that time period quite easily, if they so desire - for example, someone was talking about making a Boudicca scenario. Such things could now be done with little more than a map and civ placing. I really hope that people use it for this - it could be a great way for people to learn to make interesting scenarios, with suitable units designed for that era or location, without having to learn all the nuts and bolts of the PediaIcons file. And third, of course, the mod will come complete with a huge influx of new graphics - lots of units, and R8XFT's best leaderheads to date. Those alone will be a big boost to modding here. I know that the LOTM crew are keen to use quite a lot of the new graphics, and my own scenario will be pretty much complete once they're available.

Actually R8XFT you have 26 days to finish or I just wont play it for 6 months :)

Looks awsome
REally lookingforward to it.

Not wanting to rush, but I cant wait to try this out. I know a lot of work has gone into its creation and I am looking as forward to this as I am Civ 4. :king:

It was sort of productive. I've only done the diplomacy.txt out of the list above (and am still finishing this work off) - however, I've completely re-written 18 civs' diplomacy, the other 13 were civs already in the game or civs that closely matched ones already there. I still have the other things to do, hopefully I'll get to do those this coming weekend.

I agree with Weasel and as far as I understand you only have minor issues to fix untill the mod is complete. So why not realease the mod sooner and add a patch after a while :) . It worked for the WH mod.

Guys, I'll release it when I'm ready to release it. If people want to play civ 4 instead of this mod, that's their choice.

<----------will leave CIV4 in the box...waiting patiently for AD ALOT more

and as far as patching, all that realy does is give impatient people an "almost" done MOD...Id rather have the full product...Civ4 can wait, it has this long
