Just want to share my experience with this announcement thread.

After I`ve released my "Kyoto Terrain" I have had 50 downloads after some time. But the DL ratio slowed down to near zero.

Then the announcement was posted and inside two days my DL counter has shown more than 100 DLs. Means the ratio has been doubled. (today it`s about 150 DLs)

This should show all contributors how important it is to announce your work here.

Hi, I read the rules for the posts and am thinking about posting my mod here in the near future. My question is... Am I not allowed to post large screenshots as previews. I find that it mite be difficult for me to show features of my mod in one 320x320 picture. I would probably need multiple screenshot sized pictures. Or is the preview just for the moderators? And I can still show full screenshots to people who may want to download my file?

I'm sorry for being such a useless noob .

Create a new thread with more / larger pictures detailing your mod, and then post here just a small announcement with one picture.
This is jsut a "teaser" to invite people to go see the details in your maion thread.

Steph's suggestion are on the mark. For the announcement preview you could also post

• a "banner" with the mod title that meets the requirements (one dimension no more than 320, preferably smaller)
• the opening screen, if you have one
• a 320x320 montage of images to show the various things you want
