Annoying Occupation Titles

Yer right, it's a bad mojo anymore. Though systems analysts
, Operators used to be a real jobs. I translate a few new ones.

Project manager - fat ass foreman, no dp knowledge needed
colours in gantt charts with crayons.

Business systems intergrator/impelmenter - these guys
supposely "translate" english to language programmers can
understand. Bosses relatives or just dept. packing.

Systems Analyst- used to be a good programmer who designed
system data flow now, done by P/As. See Project Manager.

Systems/Network Engineer - A guy who knows where all the
switchs are in the network software. To be fair some of them
do know how a computer works, some of them don't, more
isit refugees/relatives.

Programmer, Programmer/Analyst - varying amount of knowledge
here, produces tangable results.

Systems Operater/Operator - runs things on a schedule, IS
mother/babysitter.

President of the United States of America

Another one for your list:

Management Consultant: person who knows nothing about your business, or anything else, but you pay him $250/hour to tell your employees what to do. Useful for heading up doomed projects; you can blame everything on "the damn consultants" after their contract is up.

When there was IT-boom here (Funny, I seem to be the only one who made sarcasm of it
before the year 2001), some people started calling themselves such names as
"Script Editor", well, what's wrong with that?

They used English language instead of Finnish. Looked more wooler, I would except.

Petroleum Transfer Engineer - Gas Pumper
Soil Relocation Engineer- Works a big digger
Polysaccharide Sales Representative- Sells candy

Occupational Therapist. I still don't know what those are all about.

I believe that they function to ensure that facilities are provided for people with disabilities to ensure that they can lead a "normal" life. Eg. ramps and handrails for people in wheelchairs etc.

They help people who have had accidents get back to work. For example if you had an arm amputed (extreme I know) they would help you find a job in which you are interested an capable of doing with only one arm.:goodjob:

We have a lot of Systems Engineers where I work. These are people who know the proper process of "building stuff in general" (not any specific "stuff", just "stuff" in general). We even have some Senior Systems Engineers (just imagine what they do for a living).

Hi, Jimcat.

Hi, Jimcat.

I think those are "Real" Engineers ie. mechanical, electrical, structural. IS/IT ripped off their title to give some network
jerk a fancyer title than operator.

I really liked DP when i started, nobody knew that it was.
When it became IT it began to suck cause everyone wanted
to do it, so they could be cool. When it become IS/IT it became
a real political rathole. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Obvious in what way?

You mean someone who is the president isn't?

Or are you just trying to be cute by saying something stupid?

(a little obvious, but there it is)

If it includes the word United States and it isn't from you, it necessary is NOT
a troll, AofA, and therefore it isn't necessary to counter-troll it.
(A little obvious, but there it is? ;))

So does attempting to bait the forum moderator.

 Point taken. I specifically tried to avoid to tell you how you should be moderating,
since I'm not banned, seems that it paid off :)

I once received some actual help from a help desk person, but that was in 1994, before there was so much demand for tech support that companies would hire any carbon-based lifeform that could pick up a phone.
