Annoying Occupation Titles

Gramatically, the high class in "high class call girl" refers to her being high class and not her customers. But if you're a call girl then you're not high class. Expensive call girl means that you are limiting your clientele.

Well, some of them do consider themselves high class, and wouldn't sleep with just any bum who has cash in hand. There are call girls out there who won't consider a client unless he's on the upper rungs of the socioeconomic ladder. They don't walk the streets or advertise in the classifieds of the local free paper. They work on referrals only, and usually have only a handful of customers. They are well-educated and well-spoken, often have college degrees, and can hold their own at upper class social functions.

There are plenty of prostitutes out there who are both beautiful and expensive, but far from "high class". It's a measure of social skill, not price.

They may consider themselves high class but I consider those who f*** people for a living as the very lowest class so on average, they are middle class. :)
Some people are forced onto "the game", but these unfortunate people never seem to be high class call girls. Your experience of this section of society may be more extensive than mine Jimcat (j/k ;)) but nevertheless these people sell their bodies for a living. They may consider themselves high class but this doesn't make them anything of the sort. Compared to the average streetwalkers they are high class but then I'm really good at golf compared to a child. Set me against Tiger, and I'm not good at golf at all. They can consider themselves whatever they want but it doesn't take away from the fact that they are whoring themselves. Even Chris Ofili's expensive art is still s***, however it is packaged. :)

[edit]: God! I seem to having a particularly naughty day today, what with my contribution to the inventions thread and the posts here. Two swearwords in a single post is pretty strong for me!

"I consider those who f*** people for a living as the very lowest class"

Looks like I cant sink much lower in your opinion can I? :p

I never got the impression that what you did was on an employment basis. Perhaps you are one of those who is making his hobby pay for itself? ;)

Besides, his low opinion of you has nothing to do with your hobby, occupation, and or whatever it is you do and or don't do with yourself and others. ;)

I'm a lawyer - I metaphorically f**k people for a living. Guess that joke didn't work as well as planned :p

I caught it. I was going to explain it to him, but you beat me to it. Only fitting, I suppose.

BTW, there is at least one other lawyer who posts here. Do you know who I am talking about?

Er, no. I do not share the same job as my learned (if Terry Thomas-esque) friend here. I can't really remember what people do for a living but Lefty used to be a lawyer and then retired very early.
Besides, that was just a throwaway line. Unfortunately I put the :) smiley in instead of the ;) one but that happens sometimes. I'm not a religious fundamentalist of any sort!
I don't really mind the existence of prostitutes, but like Rodgers I prefer to have the thrill of the chase (and er, to do it free after a successful chase) than the ease of a big wad of cash.

Er, damn - are you being cryptic? I cant think!

EDIT - Oh, is it Duke himself? :enlighten

I was being cryptic. Sorry. Lefty is the person I was thinking of. He may not be practicing, but every once in a while he'll go all "barrister" and prove that "once a lawyer, always a lawyer."

Ahhhhh.....he's one of those. I get it now. Kinda like a politician then.

Whoa! I may be a bit of a cad and occasionally a grave robber but NEVER a politician!!

Besides, can you imagine ME standing up for good clean family values? ;)

If yer any good your screwing their minds (not confusing them)
along with the body. Seduction is an important part of the warm-up.

Well, there are all sorts of possible responses to this. Don't professional athletes sell their bodies for a living? How about manual laborers? And how is selling one's body less inherently "classy" than selling one's mind?

But these are all matters of opinion, and you've got yours and I've got mine. If you'd like some recreational reading on the subject, try the recent novel Diary of a Manhattan Call Girl. It probably won't change your opinion but it will give you insight into the kind of person who calls themselves a "high class call girl".

No, but someone has to give representation to the other 70% of society! ;)

My dad's official work title is "Auto Properties Supervisor", which isn't nearly as crazy as something like sanitation engineer, but it's still using an unecessary number of big words. He tells guys to look at smashed up cars and estimate how much the insurance should cover or something. I'm not really sure though....

I'm a sales clerk....but I don't know of any dumb title that goes with it though....
