Annoying Scenario Questions

Hello all!

Okay, so I've made a scenario, saved it and want to test it. But every time I load it up I have to sit through the computer taking its first turns in horrible zoomed in modes- is there any way to make the scenario start in a more pleasing zoomed-out manner?

Hmm, another problem I've just discovered whilst playtesting- the bastard AI just won't attack! The way one event is supposed to happen, is that an AI unit gets built next to a "spare" civilisation's city, and that city has one weak unit in it; when the AI takes the city in two turns' time, another event is triggered. But the AI just won't attack the city! Hell, I even revealed the map to check what was taking the event such a long time to happen, then created three of the most powerful units in the game next to the city, and they just fortify themselves outside it! I deleted the city walls (Which are there in case the city is destroyed rather than captured), they still wouldn't attack. Hell, I even deleted the unit in the city and they won't take it! What's going on?!

Could the two AI races be making peace? I put an event in that says everyone can't talk to each other, but is that enough?

Or maybe there's just a better way of doing timed events... can anyone help?

The attacking civilization might not have enough defenses.

Someone else had a similar problem lately, I believe. The AI didn't want to attack either and just fortified its units. Once the civilization had enough defenses, it started to attack again...

I guess it's some sort of a silly defense mechanism to make sure the AI doesn't just throw itself at its enemies and leaves its home country defenseless.

While at uni today I suddenly had this horrible thought... that the reason they're not attacking could be because the defending unit (which can't move) actually belongs to the attacking civ! I'll have to check this when I gets home...

How about not having it zoomed in so much when I start up? It's annoying!

I have that problem too. I think it has something to do with the resolution you have.. I have 1280x1024.

Yes, my problem was down to my own stupidity... yay! I guess I can't solve the resolution thing, but that's okay I spose.

Mister Do, are you still updating your homepage at all? And have you released any new scenarios since the two ST mods?

Good god that's oooooooooooold stuff I don't even remember where that page is (Although I can find it by searching at google, I've re-found it before), but I've not made any more scenarios since those ones. I did try making one based on Command and Conquer Red Alert, but it was totally unplayable because I'd based it on the original WW2 scenario and there were some factors there that caused ruination. And so forth.

If you still get the problem with units refusing to attack (even to just walk into an unguarded city), have you tried editing the attitude of the 2 civs towards one another?
