i've done this europe map.
the rules are modified but i hope someone can use this map for something.
it was thought for an ancient mod, because there is a lot of africa and north europe is cutted.
the map hasn't mountains at the borders, even if the image has them.

keep lovin' this site and C3C.

Looks really good from the screenshot, I especially like how variagated the terrain looks! I'm going to download it for sure, although it could be a very long time before I ever get around to playing it.

If you ever feel like extending this map further to the east, say all the way to the Indus river, please do! The nice thing about Europe maps that extend to Iran is that one can play BOTH ancient world & medieval scenarios on them (Babylon, Persia etc. all the way to England & France...).

Looks REALLY good from the preview.

Though I absolutely need to comment that the Carpathians are not placed right... ;) And there are no mountains at all at the Danube near the Black Sea. Apart from that it's awesome!

There are mountains by the Black Sea. They're called the Cauccus Mountains. They're in southern Russia take up most of Armenia, Georgie, and Azerbaijan, along with a small part of north-eastern Turkey and north-western Iran.

Uh-huh, and from the preview, I'd say those mountains are where you say they are.

I know this very well, but on this map there are mountains near the Danube Delta (I mentioned near the Danube in my post above). And in reality there are no such mountains there. If they are the Balkan Mountains, they are too far north. If they are the Carpathians, they don't have this shape.

That's what I meant. :D

Edit: Downloaded the map, and the mountains are at the immediate south of the Danube. This means that the Danube has a not very accurate shape and the Balkan Mountains are too far north.

i'm happy my map has started a discussion on europe physical asset.
i'm sorry for the mistakes, i hope i'll be able to post a new more correct map.
thanks all for writing!
anyone knows how to crop a map in a biggest map?
for example, to do the extension Mithadan is speaking of, how can i do it without reshaping whole europe?
sorry for my english.. and thanks for the positive impressions

i really thank you Mirc, i think it is the utility i was waiting for since i was born.
but i can't download the freeimage.dll, because the link leads me to a promotional site.. i think.
i wait for your help.. but i'm not hurry.. thanks very much!

Go to the last page of the thread, someone provided a link to a different place to download that dll from. You can download it from there, but be careful that what you download will be more than one folder, so you need just to copy the freeimage from there somewhere in the files you downloaded and paste it in the map tweaker folder.

BTW (this info is there, so if you read carefully you'll see it, but I post this just to be sure): remove all start locations before altering a map with Map Tweaker, and don't forget to uncheck the option "Compress bic files" in the editor (further information given by Alimentado). You have to do these because the utility has never been truly finished, but these are small bugs that don't bother me very much.

thank u very much Mirc, i've got that .dll and my prog works
it's a great thing!
perhaps i wouldn't do this europe map if i could extend and old one.. who knows..
